Prize Draw terms and conditions

1. By entering the Prize Draw you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully prior to participating in the Prize Draw. By participating in the Prize Draw you fully and unconditionally agree to and accept these Terms and Conditions.

2. Definitions

“Closing Date” means midnight on 30 April 2019;

“Opening Date” means 1 February 2019;

“Prize” means 100,000 Flying Club miles as further detailed at clause 4;

“Prize Draw” means the prize draw described on Virgin Atlantic’s website as governed by these Terms and Conditions;

“Prize Draw Period” means the period starting on the Opening Date and ending on the Closing Date;

“Terms and Conditions” means the terms and conditions set out in this document; and 

“Winners” means the 10 successful entrants of the Prize Draw. 

3. The Prize Draw is only open to those aged 18 years and older, who are Flying Club members and Tesco Clubcard members and who are resident in the UK, except for employees of Virgin Atlantic or any Virgin Atlantic subsidiaries and / or agencies or members of their immediate families (including any live-in partner), or any person connected with the creation or administration of this Prize Draw. Any such entries are invalid. 

4. The Prize includes 100,000 Flying Club miles per winner. The Flying Club miles will be valid for 3 years from your most recent qualifying earning or spending activity. 5. To be entered into the Prize Draw you must have converted your Tesco Clubcard points into your Flying Club account during the Prize Draw Period. 

6. When you convert your Tesco Clubcard points to your Flying Club account during the Prize Draw Period, you are automatically entered into the Prize Draw.  

7. Receipt of entry will not be acknowledged. Virgin Atlantic does not accept any responsibility or liability for any entry not successfully completed due to a technical fault, technical malfunction, computer hardware or software failure, satellite, network or server failure of any kind.

8. Virgin Atlantic reserves the right to refuse entry, or refuse to award the Prize or any other prize to anyone in breach of these Terms and Conditions.  

9. The Winners will be selected completely at random, from the Prize Draw entries, by a third party (Promo Veritas) on 7 May 2019

10. The Winners will be notified by Virgin Atlantic, via the email address attached to their Flying Club account, on 9 May 2019.  The Winners will be required to respond to confirm their eligibility plus acceptance of the Prize by midnight on 10 May 2019.  If Virgin Atlantic does not receive from any of the Winners a response by this date, including evidence to verify eligibility, their Prize will be forfeited for that Winner and another winner will be selected from the original entries.

11. The Prize is not non-transferable and cannot be sold, bartered, exchanged or substituted for any other prize.  No cash equivalent or alternative prize will be given.

12. It is condition of accepting the Prize that the Winner gives consent to Virgin Atlantic to publish their name and area of residence in association with the Prize in any and all forms of media as required by law or otherwise in connection with the Prize Draw. Specifically, the Winners agree for their names to be featured on the Winners Circle (or equivalent) page of Virgin Atlantic’s website.

13. The Prize may not be used in conjunction with any other promotion or promotional fare or vouchers offered by Virgin Atlantic or any third party. 

14. Information submitted by Prize Draw entrants and Winner will only be used by Virgin Atlantic for the purposes of administering the Prize Draw, contacting the Winner and otherwise in accordance with these Terms and Conditions. 15. By entering the Prize Draw, the Winners agree to release Virgin Atlantic from any liability whatsoever for any claims, costs, injuries, losses, or damages of any kind arising out of or in connection with the Prize Draw or with the acceptance, possession, attendance at or use of the Prize (except death or personal injury caused by Virgin Atlantic’s negligence, for fraud, or otherwise as prohibited by law). 

16. None of the provisions of these Terms and Conditions shall be deemed to constitute a partnership or agency between the Prize Draw entrants and Virgin Atlantic and the Prize Draw entrants shall have no authority to bind Virgin Atlantic in any manner whatsoever.

17. In the event of fault, mistake, misunderstanding or dispute concerning the operation of any part of the Prize Draw, Virgin Atlantic’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

18. Virgin Atlantic reserves the right to hold void, suspend, cancel, or amend the Prize Draw where it becomes necessary to so. 

19. These Terms and Conditions are subject to English Law and the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.

Earning miles:

*Clubcard points are not awarded on tobacco or tobacco related products, lottery, stamps, prescription medicines, infant formulae milk, Tesco Gift Cards, saving stamps, Esso fuel, in store concessions, Paypoint payments or for purchases of some Tesco Bank products. Other products may also be excluded from the scheme at the discretion of Tesco. Standard Clubcard terms and conditions apply, minimum spend to qualify for Clubcard points is £1. ** Various Clubcard points can be earned with all Tesco's companies at various earning levels, which can be exchanged into Flying Club miles.

^Top-ups bought in the following places are eligible: Top-ups bought from a Tesco store (Clubcard must be scanned and registered to the customer's Tesco Mobile account); Top-ups bought via the Tesco Mobile website, SMS, Debit/Credit card over the phone and Automatic top-ups. Top-ups bought outside of Tesco or via ATMs (including Tesco Bank) or by e-top up outside of Tesco aren't eligible for Clubcard points.

Exchanging miles:

1. Clubcard vouchers will be exchanged to Flying Club miles within 28 days of the date of transaction.
2. Clubcard points cannot be transferred back to your Clubcard account once exchanged and credited to your Flying Club account.

Please note: Only valid Clubcard vouchers (printed with the name of the Clubcard holder) making the booking, and that matches with name showing on the Clubcard Statement mailings and entitled 'voucher') can be turned into Flying Club miles. Bookings can only be made by the Clubcard member. Vouchers may be pooled but only by members with accounts registered with Clubcard at the same postal address. Vouchers must be in date and not sold, damaged, defaced, copied, altered or redeemed.
