Spend your miles on Reward Flights, Upgrades and Companion tickets^

Use your miles to buy a Reward Flight, cabin Upgrade or even a Companion ticket. Our reward tickets are split by standard and peak season, so take a look at the tabs below for the number of miles you’ll need for your dates and destination.

^ Reward flights are subject to availability and taxes, fees and carrier imposed surcharges apply.  Upgrades are not available from Economy Light, or from K class in Premium to Upper Class. And Companion tickets are not available in K class for Premium or Z class in Upper Class.

Reward seats

Spend your miles on a reward seat

This table shows the amount of miles you’ll need to get a Virgin Atlantic Reward Flight. Reward Flights are only available in Economy Classic, Premium and Upper Class.

  • Standard season Reward Flights start from as little as 20,000 miles* for an Economy Classic return flight.
  • Peak season Reward Flights start from 40,000 miles,* for an Economy Classic return flight.

An infant under two at the time of travel, and not requiring a seat, will be charged at the following one way levels:

  • 1,000 miles in Economy
  • 2,000 miles in Premium
  • 5,000 miles in Upper Class

How to book

You can book Reward Flights online. Just remember to select ‘pay with miles’ when you’re searching for your flight. If your travel dates are fairly flexible, take a look at the 5 week calendar. Just pick your dates, select ‘within 5 weeks’ and you’ll find lots more Reward Seat availability.

Cabin upgrades

Spend your miles on an upgrade

The number of miles you’ll need to spend to upgrade your ticket* all depends on when you’re planning to travel.

The table below shows the number of miles you’ll need to spend (for a round trip) to upgrade the seat you’ve already purchased, to a seat in our Premium or Upper Class cabin during our standard season.

If you’re planning to travel during our peak season, you’ll need to spend an additional 10,000 miles on top of the miles shown below for a standard season reward upgrade to Premium. If Upper Class is more your style, you’ll need 15,000 more miles to upgrade from Economy Classic or Delight to Upper Class.

Please note: Taxes, fees and carrier imposed surcharges apply to all Reward Flights. Child fares cannot be upgraded using Flying Club miles.

*Available on purchased tickets only. This applies to tickets issued on VS/DL paper only.

Upgrades are not available from Economy Light, or from K class in Premium to Upper Class.

How to book

Simply contact our Flying Club helpline to book or for further information. Please check qualifying booking classes for upgrades before you book and travel.

If you decide on the spur of the moment to upgrade your flight when at the airport, just let one of our staff members know so they can check the availability of reward seats in the cabin you want to move up to.

Companion seats

Spend your miles on a seat for someone special

You can save a seat onboard for a friend when you buy a full adult ticket in all booking classes, except for Economy Light and Economy Delight. 

This table shows how many miles you'll require for a round trip Companion seat for all of our different destinations in each cabin class. For peak season companion seats, you'll need an extra 10,000 Flying Club miles per round trip.

A Premium purchased ticket will get you a 50% discount off a Premium Reward Flight.

An Upper Class purchased ticket, will get you 50% off an Upper Class Reward Flight.

All Reward Flights are subject to availability and can only be used on Virgin Atlantic flights.

Companion tickets are not available in K class for Premium or Z class in Upper Class.
