We saw all of the big 4 at Aquila ( I don’t think there’s a leopard there ) the safari experience was fantastic our guide Josh was so knowledgeable and got us up really close the the elephants and lions , The reserve is goes on for miles and we got to see all the animals there which was amazing. The buffet was just okay, we had a standard room as we booked late and all the others were sold out, the bathroom is in desperate need of a renovation the shower smelt so musty it made the room smell . One night Is definitely enough as if you do 2 it’s just a repeat of the same thing. Value for money it was excellent though . Read less

They picked us up on time and drove the 2hrs upto the reserve just in time for lunch before we checked into our room. We booked a Premier cottage which was stunning and could sit out on our balcony and watch for animals .with staying a night there all food is included and an evening safari and a morning safari in with the price. Drinks are reasonably priced. Loved the time spent there and though the lions don't roam free it still felt special been up close to them. Read less

I liked the separation from the overnight guests & day guests. Read less

Safari was amazing and the tour guide was very knowledgeable. Breakfast was lovely & plenty of food options. Our room was immaculate & beautiful views overlooking the safari. Very disappointed with the massage experience I had, booked in for the 30min back neck head massage and treatment time was cut by 10mins. My partners massage was also cut by 5mins. There’s a clock on the wall in the treatment room so I checked the time (started at 9:40am and finished 10am). I was originally booked in for 9:30am. We were there from 9:20am to check in for our treatment so we were on time. I went to reception after & explained everything, very disappointed how they managed the situation, they took full payment & just said they would let the therapist know. Very unprofessional & unreasonable for the prices you’re paying at the spa. Will not be returning to the Spa for this reason. I was really looking forward to relaxing during my massage but just felt rushed. Read less

This is our second visit so we knew what to expect. It was our honeymoon and as such we chose to pay double what we did last year to have a room overlooking the safari park. We were given a ground floor room with disabled access and a hoist over the bath.. The view is the one thing we had hoped for and all we could see were sunbathers and umbrellas. Despite paying an awful lot of money the furniture was poorly maintained and in poor state. (This room was over £450 per night). The game reserve did not disappoint and as I said in my previous post, this is a private game reserve and although feels "staged" the animals are well cared for. A shout out to Josh our game driver, who made it fun and was very informative. The food was poor and I am sure I became ill after a prawn chow main dish (the uncooked prawns were in a bowl uncovered) and I have severe D &V. There was poor signage on the food so you had to prize the staff apart who were chatting together to ask them what was in the dishes. If you were vegan you would struggle. The fact that no fluids is included in what is already an expensive price is poor. The bar was not as nice as before, in fact, we went upstairs the first night and there was football on all the TVs so more of a sports bar. Such a shame. The staff were friendly enough but we had to ask to be served wine at the table. They even ran out of Rose at lunch time on the second day, had some in the evening, then ran out again....The staffs uniforms were tired and inconsistent and it definitely wasn't as slick as last time. Whilst waiting for our room change (to a fab room on top floor with great views and honeymoon petals -thank you to Gertrude) we went across the road to the Ecosynergy tour at the Animal rescue Centre. This is SO UNDERVALUED- its an amazing free tour where we learnt a great deal form out guide and would really recommend this. We finally moved to our new room on the third floor with amazing views - sadly the carpet was rucked up (a real trip hazard) and the mattress was in an appalling state as we saw the next day when we stripped the bed. We love it here but won't be back. The costs are far too much for value with decreasingly poor food, staff wearing pretty bad uniforms and no water provided. The Reserve does look after its animals but some of our costs would be well spent on upgrading the facilities for the guests who are over paying Read less
