The President Hotel offers guests a friendly atmosphere and relaxed ambiance. Situated in a spectacular setting, the classic design of the hotel mirrors perfectly the laid back lifestyle of Cape Town where lazy afternoons can be spent reclining by the palm-fringed pool, looking out over the Atlantic Ocean. The President Hotel has an enviable location set in the exclusive and wind-free Bantry Bay, just 7 km outside Cape Town’s CBD, it offers fresh sea air and panoramic mountain and ocean views that’ll see you unwinding in no time. With an enticing selection of restaurants, bars and lounges, the hotel is situated in a great location for those who want to venture out, Bantry Bay is great for local eateries but the President is also excellently located in the city half way between the famous V&A Waterfront and the first class beaches and eateries of Clifton and Camps Bay.

Beware! This hotel owes me a refund from December 2024, which has still not been paid. We were promised upon leaving the hotel that the money would be transferred back to us with no issues. We took that promise in good faith and provided our bank details. Since then, there have been repeated issues raised in relation to transferring the money to us, and now the hotel simply are refusing to respond or engage with us, despite having been provided with all the information requested. I can only conclude that the hotel have been dishonest and disingenuous in their assurances that we would receive the refund. I would absolutely recommend to avoid this hotel at all costs.

Just back from an 8 night stay at The President with my husband. This was our second stay there. Reasons to choose this hotel
1) The staff are outstanding- so friendly and can’t do enough for you. Look out for Eminence who has to be one of the nicest people in hospitality.

1) The staff are outstanding- so friendly and can’t do enough for you. Look out for Eminence who has to be one of the nicest people in hospitality.
2) Location - it’s a short Uber ride to the V&A Waterfront in one direction and Camps Bay the other way (Ubers are really good value and so reliable). It’s only a short walk down to the sea front which is great for a morning walk.
3) Cleanliness - the hotel is very clean and housekeeping team do a fabulous job.
4) Lovely bar area with a great range of drinks and all reasonably priced. Bar staff are always really busy but that doesn’t stop them being attentive.
We booked B&B and the breakfast is plentiful and done very well - if you like the usual style buffet breakfast. We actually strolled along Regent Road to Kleinsky’s or Jarryd’s for breakfast which is more to our taste.
The hotel is a hot spot for locals to celebrate special occasions or to meet up, and airline staff also stay here so it is always buzzing.
It’s a relatively small (but pleasant) pool
area although that doesn’t bother us as we come to Cape Town as a base to explore from, so we are not looking for a “resort”.
All in all, The President gets a thumbs up from us and we’d definitely go back again.

Great place to stay

Great location 2 min walk down to the sea front. Room was huge and lovely large bed. The bar at the hotel is great, buzzy atmosphere and delicious drinks. Only thing I didn’t like was the very small pool area, way too cramped and everyone on top of each other.
Excellent Service & Stunning Location

The hotel is ideally located, offering spectacular views that make for a perfect getaway. While I’m not a fan of the day pass system at the pool, and feel it could be adjusted slightly to better prioritize hotel guests, it didn’t take away from the overall experience.
Highly recommended, and we hope to be back soon!

If you need help with any trips or a car or any tips about Cape town. Go and see Alexa on concierge she is brilliant. Would definitely go back and stay here. Standards are high.
