The hotel

A home away from home? This is that and more. With a sophisticated, sleek interior that’s infused with South African vibrancy, you’ll find yourself in the heart of the city – just opposite the Convention Centre if you’re here for business, but also just steps from bars, restaurants and attractions if you’re here for fun. Whichever room type you pick you’ll find yourself with ample space, and a fully equipped kitchenette to cook up a storm. Whilst you’ll feel like you’re in your own apartment, the concierge are on hand downstairs for whatever you need. And if you don’t feel like using your own facilities, the Asian tapas restaurant on the ground floor is definitely worth a visit. And if you fancy an aperitif, head up to the 4th floor to enjoy a cocktail with stunning views of Table Mountain. Of course you’ll also have to find time in your schedule for a dip in the pool which has both indoor and outdoor sections – perfect whatever the weather! And we haven’t even mentioned the spa…

Set in the Cape Town foreshore, just across the street from Cape Town International Convention Centre, just 8 km from Table Mountain and 19 km from Cape Town International Airport.

One Bedroom Apartments range from 46 to 66 sqm, and the lounge/dining area and kitchenette are separate to the bedroom, which has 1 king-size bed, sleeping maximum 2 people. 

Deluxe One Bedroom Apartments have stunning Cape Town views, with 1 king-size bed, sleeping maximum 2 people. 

Two Bedroom Apartments range from 77 to 102 sqm, with two bathrooms, and the lounge/dining area and kitchenette are separate to the two bedrooms, one of which has 1 king-size bed, and the other has twin beds, sleeping maximum 4 people.

Deluxe Two Bedroom Apartments have stunning mountain views from the balcony, with 1 king-size bed and twin beds, sleeping maximum 4 people. 

YU Asian Tapas and Bar (contemporary Asian dining, open for lunch and dinner). MRKT (serving healthy on-the-go deli-style meals, as well as breakfast and light lunches). Granite Bar (fourth floor lounge and bar).

It was also close to table mountain, and our rooms had a great view of it from our windows. The rooms are equipped as studio apartments, with all the necessary amenities. The tv provided access to all streaming channels. the staff were very friendly and efficient, and made this stay enjoyable. The best thing were the hotel restaurants: the MRKT, were we had our breakfast provided both a la carte and buffet options, with fresh ingredients, many health options, and great coffee! and Yu, which was a more high-end restaurant with great dishes. The 4th floor terrace was a great place to hang out and relax, we used the spa there and had an incredible massage. Would highly recommend this place for anyone visiting cape town :) Read less

The warmness of the welcome after my long flight was such a tonic and the rooms are well appointed. Comfortable bed, although the pillows are a bit too firm for me even though I like firm! This is the second time i stay at the Onyx. its conveniently located and the location is accessible easily. Clean rooms, fast and responsive service and staff. Nothing to complain about also the rooms are spacious and well furnished. The breakfast provides excellent variety and they can customize your requests .
