We were met at Skukuza airport by our driver Dion who was excellent. He took us on a very leisurely drive to the hotel and stopped regularly so that we could admire the wildlife on the way. He even had binoculars in the car - it was almost a private mini game drive! Having started with such a positive experience we were a little surprised by the lack of welcome at the hotel itself. One other couple were checking in ahead of us which seemed to take all of the 3 staff on duty's attention. Eventually it was our turn after hanging around for about 15 minutes and being ignored by everyone else. Our room wasn't ready but we were promised a WhatsApp when it was so we went to the pool bar for a drink. The staff there were very friendly & attentive and the bar's position overlooking the river bed is great. We eventually wandered back to reception - no WhatsApp message - to find that our room had been changed and was now ready. No-one showed us to our room - we followed the map to find it. The room itself was great and very well equipped. Our dining experience was similar to that at reception. The only time someone approached us was to present us with our bill for drinks. Every other time we had to try & get someone's attention. The quality & variety of food was excellent but the service left a lot to be desired. This hotel has a lot of positives but whoever is in charge of staff training needs to up their game. Read less

Location was fantastic and the staff were absolutely outstanding everyone of them could not do enough. Customer relations Sarah and Miguel were extremely friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Themba,Silas and Godfrey and last but not least Raol ,who I have to say was a true gentleman and always there for whatever we needed. So glad we booked this place to stay, it was so much more than we anticipated and l would definitely book again. Read less

From the moment we walked into the hotel to the day we left we have had the most excellent experience and stay, with the most friendly staff. Nothing was too much to ask. The highlight was the visit from the elephant and buffalo's visiting at the pool deck.

The rooms, the staff, and the game drives through the hotel were fantastic. We booked the larger suite style room, it was extremely nice and comfortable. The included breakfast and dinner buffets were great too. There were vegan options but not always marked well. Non-dairy milk would have been nice as well but maybe it’s difficult to get out here. The lunch menu did have vegan options labeled. Princess who works the coffee cafe near reception was fantastic. The best part of the entire trip was the early morning game drive with Justice. He was just as excited to find all the animals as we were and was tracking the animals with the other drivers to make sure we’d see as much as possible. The afternoon drives weren’t as good but understandable as there are not as many animals out or drivers to track the animals, plus the hotel game drives have to be out of the park before close (6pm). We also did two drives through the park itself (booked through SANParks website). It was cool to see animals at night since the hotel isn’t allowed to be in the park at night but the drives through the hotel were still much better. If we did this trip again, we would book all morning drives through the hotel, skip the afternoon drives. If you’re looking for a very nice place to stay that isn’t an all inclusive lodge where you can do both game drives and self drives, this is the place to stay. Read less

Great hotel, fabulous scenery and stunning rooms. But you have to book a Safari with Enock. This guy knows places and is the best spotter.. we were super lucky and glad that Enock was able to show us Wild Dogs and even two Leopards. Highly recommended..!
