We booked a luxury family suite for one night, which was too short to make the most of the palace and suncity. The palace architecture is stunning and mesmerizing. Our room was located in the elephant wing and was very spacious, spotless and comfortable. Breakfast was a generous spread. My kids were delighted to find sushis for breakfast! However, we were quite dissapointed with the level of service. Check in was smooth but slow. No one welcomed us we had to find our way and its easy to get lost at the palace it being so huge! No one really to explain how suttles work, the activities around and how to get there. We got lost trying to find the royal bath( adult pool), lack of signage around the palace. The personnel seemed to be laidback and absent or maybe even understaff. For a hotel of this standing and price - it greatly lacks service and attention to customers, excluding the girls at the spa and Salon who were able to match expectations. We would hestitate to come back. They really need to train existing staff, recruit more employees and improve quality of service. Read less

This is the forth time we have stayed here - the last time being about 10 years ago but the service level has slipped down considerably. Disappointing to note that in the breakfast room every morning our table without water (or never offered some) on each table despite the heat, salt cellars dont work, butter dishes empty - at a buffet environment why is this hard to do? The breakfast offering is good and the better meal we had in the whole hotel. Meals around the pool were less than average - all lacking balance, flavor and cooking skills with meat and burgers overdone. Key cards often not working, credit on key cards not working and being told by Reception staff to call someone else to sort it out???? The rooms are lovely though, clean and spacious with very good beds. Elephant bar service is slow - wine brought without ice bucket, without ice and waited too long for other drinks and glasses. Pool service also slow and often saw staff eating or sitting on their phones! In a hotel of this caliber it was a surprise to see such lacksdaisy service which should be really sharp, professional and en point. Read less

We have recently stayed for our 5th visit for 9 days and what a fantastic time we had. Our room was fantastic we were on the 6th floor and the cleaners did a great job everyday keeping everything restocked, clean and tidy for us, thank you to everyone who looked after us in room 633. We arrived after a long journey from Wales, U.K. and our room was not quite ready but we did not have to wait long to start enjoying our holiday. Unfortunately the Crystal Court was undergoing refurbishment so breakfast was held in The Villa but this did not cause any issues for us, I have to mention the lovely Junior who always had a smile on her face and was very pleasant to chat with she also made the perfect omelettes for me, all the waiting staff at breakfast were great to be fair. For us the best part of the hotel are the staff at the pool deck, we arrived every day to be greated by Siyanda who was such a friendly guy always had a smile on his face and always happy to help with loungers and umbrellas, we were looked after brilliantly again by Elizabeth (Lizzie) she has looked after us every time we visit and we asked for her especially and we were delighted to see her still at the Palace, she even remembered what drinks we ordered and constantly checked on us to ensure we had everything we needed, when she had days off Vivene and Mariane (I hope I have spelled your names correctly) also looked after us brilliantly, Nora was another great lady who provided me with the best foot massage’s ever so if you get the chance get a massage it is well worth the money. The only thing that was different this time was the transport around Sun City, nothing to do with the hotel really, the guys outside the hotel did a great job of arranging transport and stopping people pushing in but coming back people don’t seem to have any manners people can be in the queue and people just push in front of them, same with the lifts at the hotel your trying to get out and people are trying to get in…when will people realise you cannot get in something till people get out….just something for people to be aware of, the manners on some people are non existent. We would like to thank everyone at the hotel from the staff in new sweet shop to the guys outside, bus drivers, cleaners around the hotel etc everyone we came across were very friendly and we made a point of saying hello to everyone as they all work very hard and everything goes towards providing us with a lovely holiday. We are planning on returning next year and are looking forward to it already. Read less

The one lady at the egg station was not helpful at all, its almost like you are a bother if you ask for an omelette. The food was running out and the chef stood around chatting for 5 mins before sending for refills. Out of all the hotels at Sun City you'd think the service would be the best at the palace but I found it lacking in quite a few areas. The wait for the shuttle was quite long. Read less

We are currently here on our 5th visit to this wonderful hotel. Stars of your show are your serving staff with a special mention for Lizzy our waitress for 5 years at the pool deck. We ALWAYS ask for her as she always has just the right level of attention to us, she is friendly and happy too. We love the large bedrooms and in room facilities, coffee machine, fridge, bottled water and big bathroom. They do an evening turn down service and leave you sweets on your pillows. Yes it's a little dated in parts but then it is meant to resemble a "grand old palace" though the main breakfast restaurant is currently being refurbished. It is so easy to get on safaris into the Pilanesberg Park from The Palace too. You can book online using Sun City's excellent free WiFi or see the concierge at the beautiful reception area. We will definitely be back soon. Stephen & Tina Jones, Swansea, Wales Read less
