This 4-star deluxe luxury landmark hotel, the oldest hotel in South Africa located in the heart of the university town of Stellenbosch, sets the tone for your Winelands discovery. Situated right in the centre of the historic university town of Stellenbosch, only 45 km from Cape Town, 20 km from the sea and surrounded by beautiful mountains and vineyards. Stellenbosch is famous as the premier wine region of South Africa. Transfer time from Cape Town Airport: 35 minutes.

58 rooms in 5 buildings. All with air-conditioning, satellite TV, telephone, tea/coffee maker, safe and hairdryer. Comfy Rooms are contemporary in style and are located on all 3 floors and overlook the shady central garden or quiet, vine-covered courtyard. Rooms with either twin beds and bath and shower or 1 king-size bed and luxury shower only, sleeping maximum 2 adults.

Whimsy Rooms are the hotel’s signature accommodation. Rooms are very spacious and decorated with a mix of modern and old-world charm, located either in the historic section of the hotel or renovated new block, with ensuite shower or bathroom with separate shower and bath. Sleeping maximum 3 adults or 2 adults and 1 child.

Plenty Rooms are more spacious and are located either in the historic section of the hotel or renovated new block, with views of the central gardens or courtyard with either 1 king or twin beds, and a full bathroom with separate shower and bath. Sleeping maximum 2 adults.

Stayed one night at this lovely hotel in the centre of Stellenbosch, convenient for restaurants and the small botanical gardens. Our modern ‘Plenty’ room, overlooking the inner courtyard, was well presented with good sound insulation. We had a decent lunch from the all-day bar menu but ate out in the evening.

This hotel is superb in every respect .... Beautiful rooms.... Attentive, friendly and helpful staff ....Customer service at its very best... We waited so long and patiently for our visit and we where certainly not disappointed !!! Looking forward to returning in 2026 .....

What a wonderful experience we had here, the rooms are beautiful and got everything you need with the most comfortable bed ever, breakfast was superb and the service and friendliness of the staff was wonderful, the highlight is the location, in the middle of all the best restaurants and shops in Stellenbosch
