A functional no frills hotel, our tenth floor room was huge, clean and presentable. All bathroom facilities had no faults. Room heating very fit for purpose. There was a decent sized mini fridge, just needed the control turned up. Also a safe into which to store valuables, as no hotel is that secure. Despite being opposite the lifts it was commendably quiet. It’s lofty aspect lessened the street noise, even the sirens Toronto’s emergency services love to sound at all hours. Staff friendly and helpful; ask front desk for kettle, and voila one kettle quickly sent to room. Meals at in situ Bistro well cooked and tasty, staff very accommodating to customising of meals by customer ( not everyone likes cheese with everything ! ). For the traditionalist there is breakfast cereal available, just look for the wall shop in the dining area. Contrary to some reviews the area around the hotel does not smell, is safe and does not resemble a zombie apocalypse ! It is well located with the College subway stop a few stops away, with good diners and supermarkets near as well. All in all we found our stay pleasant and comfortable, would certainly stay here again in the future.

No security measures in the hotel

Very bad start with the hotel from the beginning and it ended even worst. It was a family trip with my family. Gold member with the Marriott Bonvoy. Book 3 rooms. As my family and I are flying in on different flight, I have requested hotel to allow my family to check in first as I will be arriving on a later flight. Email was send to them in advance and i also provided a copy of my passport to my family just in case. No action taken. No one care or bother. My family waited for 4hrs at the lobby until I arrived to be given a room. excuse was not policy and for security reasons.
So much about security so they say. The hotel is wide open. No security at all. Anyone can go in and out of the hotel. The elevators has no security access so anyone even though non hotel guess can go up and down the hotel.
While I am not accusing anyone or staff but during our stay my husband tablet was missing. it was left in the room for charging. We left the room for breakfast and on our return it was missing.
we reported to the hotel and ask if there was security camera but they say no. Made a police report as well. The whole incident happened in the hotel but no one from the hotel seems interested. The next day the assistance manager spoke to us. He apologize for the incident and said that the issue is being investigated and they will get back to me. It is now over a month nothing. As I told the hotel manager, customer service can be subjective as it is a question of preference. but security NO. It is not safe . I don't feel safe staying at the hotel after this incident. what is most upsetting is the fact that we have all our important things inside the tablet which money cannot replace. For me this is by far one of the worst experience I have ever had at a Marriott hotel.

We experienced a bad incident the very first hour we checked in, the flush in the commode was not working and it overflowed. The maintenance staff came and admitted it has some defect. We changed our room but that also have some issue at later days, however we endured it. It is not expected from a big name like Marriott. Another issue I felt, the hold amount released very late, after two weeks, whereas other hotels released within 3 days. In Canada, every hotel hold C$50 per day from your card which is released usually 3-5 days after you check out.

We had a comfortable, clean room.
The subway was very convenient.
Wish they had breakfast included but the cafe was reasonable and not crowded.
Everyone was helpful.
They stored our luggage after we checked out until we were ready to go to the airport.
Hotel bistro was good place to eat.

Nice room, comfy bed, big bathroom. Convenient for supermarket. I did get lost on the second day and just couldn’t find my way back to the hotel but a kind stranger looked on Google maps for me!
Had a lovely meal at the Hotel Bistro, with the most huge and delicious mango smoothie, and also had breakfast at the hotel.
