We’ve just spent 7 nights here for my wife’s 60th Birthday. Best all inclusive holiday we’ve ever had. Food was superb, endless drinks (including champagne and cocktails) available all day long. Accommodation was good and resort is very well looked after. All toilets impeccably clean.

Upon check in when we asked the ladies at reception about the room it was like they couldn’t wait for us to ask so they could say “ the are alleged fully booked” like please I work in the hotel industry so ik liars when I see one it wasn’t even “I do apologize but we sincerely don’t have any rooms” my friend n I were already irritated at the fact that they were acting like we begging when it was $75 USD for the room when we had no issues paying… We checked in went for breakfast which was such a disappointment the food wasn’t good whatsoever the dining room staff was pretty pleasant especially Theodore he was heaven sent he went I above and beyond to ensure I was enjoying my day… water sports was good as well beach bar food was somewhat better than breakfast… my overall experience was a 4/10 and I probably won’t ever return… My whole thing is why not confirm a room via email versus having ladies with their bags all over property… if I knew I wasn’t getting a room I would’ve found another resort to enjoy my birthday everyone’s preference is different but I personally wouldnt recommend anyone who needs a room for the day to go without any clarification because they will not pay you any mind Read less

I stayed at the Verandah for 5 nights and my visit was exceptional. The facilities are beautiful and well kept. My family of 4 stayed in a 2 queen villa, which was spacious and felt very airy with the tall ceilings and big window. The bathroom was also large and we were able to get ready without running into each other. I enjoyed Lover's Beach, the water was calm so you could float out on the rafts with a drink and truly relax. If you are more active, the watersports are a nice amenity. I took out a kayak and a paddleboard and it was very enjoyable! Shayen at the watersports desk was hilarious and very helpful. The beach bar was also excellent, Andre the bartender made great drinks, but I think they could benefit from having more then 1 bartender. We didn't have much of an issue getting towels after the first couple of days as we were up early, but they tended to run out quickly. The food was good, particularly Papa Rico's Pizza and the fish tacos from Sails and Tales. We had excellent seafood. For a nice snack, the popcorn from Wavy Wickets was to die for. It did take a while to get food, but it never proved to be an issue because we had no where to be. Again, they could benefit from more staff. Be prepared to embrace "Island Time". When we arrived, guest services told us there were no reservations available for that night and the following 2 nights, which was disappointing but they were able to get us in at Chef Pietro's at the Pineapple Beach Club, which was great. In terms of Pineapple Beach, I was not satisfied with our visit. We were able to get a day pass but when we arrived at 10:30, there were no chairs available on the beach. We opted to sit by the pool, which ended up being okay since we were sunburnt and it was shady. The beach itself was very crowded and the waves were rough. If you prefer a more laid-back beach experience, skip the Pineapple. The poolside food was mediocre at best, it tasted like reheated leftovers and there were birds eating out of the serving dishes at the buffet. I read some reviews saying the staff was not friendly, but my experience proved that to be wrong. I had the most friendly and helpful staff that went above and beyond. Risa from Wavy Wickets was amazing!!! She was so kind and I got to learn more about Antiguan culture from her. Theodore from Seabreeze was enthusiastic and never let our coffee mugs go dry. It truly is what you make it in terms of staff interactions. If you are friendly and want to start a conversation, 99% of the time the staff will reciprocate that. One day I also went on the Calypso Cat, and I can't say enough good things about it. You get spectacular views of the island and 2 different snorkeling locations, including one with turtles! I was able to swim right next to turtles and tons of cool fish. It is the perfect amount of time, as still have the rest of your afternoon at the resort after its over. Lastly, the nightlife was good. The DJ was awesome and very interactive. I enjoyed the dancing and even learned how to dance like a Caribbean. They had a few live bands which were great as well. Overall, I would recommend this resort to others, just be prepared to slow down and embrace the island time. I think the resort could benefit from a few more amenities, like pool and beach waiters and more dinner reservation slots. I would stay here again! Read less

It’s a shame that a beautiful resort is really not run very well. It seemed that no matter where we were they were very under staffed. One day we went for lunch at 1pm and didn’t get any of our food till 3pm. It was also frustrating not being able to get reservations for restaurants till the third day. They have a nice pizza restaurant but it takes over an hour to get a pie. The pool bar is not right by the pool and usually only had one bartender so if someone had a big order you could wait up to 30 minutes. The food was good for the most part, though it seemed best to stick to seafood. As far as the grounds the resort is very well kept. Lush plants, manicured grass, great pool and nice beaches. There is a coffee shop with pastries that is open late. The entertainment was nice, they had some great bands, karaoke and a beach party with a band. The resort is very spread out and hilly. So there were times you needed to call to be picked up by a golf cart. The resort is definitely not ADA compliant with many places with steps. Our group did have a nice time but I would not go back again. Read less
