Coconut Court Beach Hotel

The hotel

About as ‘seaside’ as you can get, the Blades family have called this sand-hugging spot home for more than four decades. And they chose a pretty perfect beach for their hotel — which is probably why hundreds of Hawksbill marine turtles call it home too. As you’re here for the beach, the Blades have made sure you’re never far from it, whether you’re lazing on the free loungers, watching moonlight movies on the sands, soaking in the seafront pool and whirlpool, sipping frozen cocktails at the beach bar, or lingering over candlelit suppers at Coco's. The beach itself is lined with beautiful trees to provide natural shelter from the Caribbean rays, so those that don't wish to worship the sun need not worry. It’s not just by the beach though — it’s also steps from South Coast Boardwalk which links you to an array of shops, restaurants and Rockley Beach. The hotel also features an open air restaurant overlooking the white sand beach. Above all else, do not forget to savour a Pirate Punch during one of the several 'happy hours' each day — a traditional Blades family recipe with a twist!

Image of the Tripadvisor rating Overall, a good hotel. Poor Beach - not hotel fault but beware the sofa bed!!!!!

I think a 3 star rating is fair. Good and generally friendly staff, great restaurant (albeit a touch expensive for south coast) and generally speaking a good hotel. Major warning, though to guests about the sofa bed!!!!!! This has a health warning and is a very antiquated and poor quality option for a £250 per night room. With some persuasion the… Read more

Major warning, though to guests about the sofa bed!!!!!! This has a health warning and is a very antiquated and poor quality option for a £250 per night room. With some persuasion the hotel will add two mattresses (5 cm per mattress) to the sofa bed making it just about bearable. Avoid if you want a good night sleep though. The other disappointing thing is whilst there is a fridge, toaster, kettle and microwave they do not provide any extras such as coffee, tea or water whatsoever. Given the cost this is surprising compared to other hotels. The bathroom facilities though are better than others in that area from my experience. Read less

The rooms are spacious, clean and well appointed with a small kitchen area containing a microwave, kettle, toaster, crockery and cutlery. The pool area is very good with plenty of sunbeds, umbrella's, tables and chairs. The beach is stunning again with plenty of sunbeds and natural shade provided by trees. Ate a couple of times in the restaurant Coco's, the food was delicious. As was the food at the beach bar. Friendly and attentive staff throughout the hotel. The only downside which is not the hotels fault but may need to bear in mind is the road noise. Our room was on the top floor and on the right hand side of the hotel closest to the road. If you are not an early riser or like go to bed early, you may need to see if there are rooms further away from the road. The beeping of the taxis started early at 6am and continued until 11pm. If we were staying longer than a week we would have asked to be moved!! Thankfully the positives of this hotel heavily outweighed this one negative. Read less

The hotel throughout is very clean and well maintained. The food was excellent (we tried breakfast, lunch and evening meals), full of flavour and very well presented. Service throughout the hotel was excellent and friendly. The beach had great natural shade from Palm and Mangrove trees, and plenty of open beach space for sun worshippers. No problem getting beach space and sun beds throughout the day. Hotel location was also ideal, with the boardwalk south to lovely bars and restaurants. Jake's bar is just across the road (good food and cocktails). Carlisle bay (for boat trips, jet ski's etc), the Garrison and Bridgetown are a short walk northwards. Local busses pass the hotel frequently, to take you to Bridgeton, Holetown and Speightstown (North), and Oistins (South). We are hoping to return in the not too distant future. Read less

She set us up with a really good catamaran snorkeling excursion and she helped us numerous times with logistics. We had one issue with the pull out bed and we brought it to the attention of the front desk. A few hours later we returned to our room and the whole sofa had been replaced! That’s service! We didn’t do the all inclusive breakfast but if you plan to eat breakfast in the restaurant each morning, it definitely will work out in your favor. We ate twice at Jake’s across the street, which is owned by the hotel. Chef Crystal is the best! Read less
