Spent a week at the Savannah with my wife. We found all the staff professionals, prompt and courteous. Our room (368) was lovely, king size bed, large balcony, bright and spacious and overlooking the pool area with a slight ocean view. Tip: bring a sleep mask as there is a high window not covered with a curtain and not completely dark. Staff responsiveness was excellent as our room air conditioner had a plugged drain and started to leak water. Informed the desk and they were on it in minutes. Dining options were available at three different locations and we found the food quite good. Omelette station for breakfast. Two a’ la carte options and one buffet for dinner. Servers were friendly and efficient at all locations. Enjoyed the pool though it is not deep and there is a separate lazy river type pool for quieter moments. The beach area was good for lounging but swimming is impossible due to the sargassum seaweed washing ashore. Not sure if this year is worse but it seemed prevalent on most beaches we visited in the area. However, the Savannah does have a shuttle service to take guests to nearby Carlisle Bay and they provide a voucher to go towards food purchased at Cococabana. The Garrison area that this resort is located in has several nearby attractions that are walking distance plus there is bus service to get you pretty much anywhere else. The resort itself has a lot of stairs and may pose a challenge if you have any mobility issues but I would recommend this hotel for a low key, friendly holiday. Read less

Despite the beach being rocky you're only a short walk to the sandy areas. There is also courtesy shuttle bus which takes you to Copacabana Beach operating Mon/Wed and Fri. There are too many names to remember but big shout outs to Beverley, Nadia, Torrance, Tiffany, Anylis, Jamar, Roman, Richard and those that I have not mentioned who looked after me whilst on holiday. As I promised last year I'll be back. Big thank you to you all x Read less

The beach was and lazy river swim pool were superb-the sea was a little covered with tiny rock pebbles which makes getting in the sea more challenging, The room was good. The food was mixed- only two restaurants-a buffet and A la Carte. Could not always book the A la Carte because it was full which was annoying as we were then relegated to the serve yourself buffet by the beach. On arrival at 1 pm, the room was not ready until 3 pm and we were not given the all inclusive drinks bands until then. We had to pay pay a £53 local tax and they took a 200 Barbadian dollar deposit on my card which was refunded on the day we left. We were leaving the hotel for the airport at 1.3.50 out of room by 12.00 was fine but then A huge problem--It was 34 degrees and we were sitting at drifters restaurant where we were allowed lunch and ONLY ONE DRINK-- HAD TO PAY FOR ANY OTHERS HOW PETTY WAS THAT-- Some travelers were not leaving until 17.00-even worse for them I called the supervisor and suggested that as we had not been given band on arrival until 3 pm, perhaps we could be allowed more drinks until then and told NO! THAT IS THE RULES I said obviously bad rules! I said it is not as though we are ordering large quantities- just 2 or 3 drinks on a really hot day. THEY DID NOT CARE NOW THEY HAD HAD OUR MONEY-AWFUL CUSTOMER CARE I said that I didn't feel that I would come again and was told--"THAT IS YOUR PREROGATIVE" LEFT A REALLY BAD TASTE IN MY MOUTH-I WILL NEVER GO BACK HERE DO NOT GO TO THIS HOTEL-- THAT IS A BAD THING TO DO TO GUESTS--PAY FOR YOUR DRINKS AFTER 12 NOON Read less

Recently visited this lovely hotel, excellent location and a grand old historic building right next to the garrison. I can't complement the staff enough, too many names to mention, but they all made us and our stay feel exceptional. Some minor niggles with the fabric of the building, some areas looked a little tired and the lifts didn't always work, but this was more than made up for by the people who looked after us. As a good mid-priced hotel it was excellent value for money and I would recommend it. Just make sure you don't have any mobility issues, though, there are steps everywhere! Read less
