The hotel

This chic hotel is reputed to have some of the friendliest staff on the island! It's also located across the road from St. Lawrence Bay where the waters are exceptionally shallow at low tide — enabling you to safely walk miles into the ocean (you might see some turtles along the way!). There’s a lovely restaurant on-site or you can head round the corner to the centre of St. Lawrence Gap for some lively nightlife. Refurbished studio rooms have large balconies offering stunning views, a kitchenette and complimentary WiFi.

Where is it

At the entrance of St. Lawrence Gap, directly across the street from the beautiful white sands of St. Lawrence Bay. Bars and restaurants are a short walk away and the shops of Bridgetown are a 15-minute drive or bus ride. Transfer time from airport: 10 minutes.

All with air-conditioning, ceiling fan, patio or balcony, kitchenette with fridge, gas oven, microwave, coffee-making facilities, bathroom with walk-in shower, LED TV, telephone, complimentary WiFi access, safe, iPod docking station, bathroom amenities, and daily maid service. Ocean View Deluxe Studios with 1 king-size bed and 1 double sleeper sofa, sleeping maximum 3 adults.

Oceanfront restaurant, On the Bay, located on the ground floor overlooking St Lawrence Bay, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. New lounge area within the restaurant with a 65” flat-screen TV, great for watching sports. Daily Happy Hours from 12:00pm-1:00 pm. Optional breakfast available at a supplement. Room service*.

Freshwater swimming pool.

A Tourism Fee will be charged per bedroom, per night and will be collected at check out. The rate is subject to change by the Government, and varies by hotel room. Fees currently range from 8.75 Barbadian dollar (approximately £3.90) to 35 Barbadian dollar​ (approximately £16.00) per bedroom, per night. 

This hotel has no lifts, and steps are required on all floors. This hotel is not suited to guests with mobility issues.

What to say about the Yellow Bird? Everything about this hotel is perfect … small and friendly with beautiful views and very clean. Carol-Ann and her team work so hard and they make the hotel very special. Have been twice and am hoping very much to return for a third time next year too.

My boyfriend and I really enjoyed the Yellow Bird Hotel. We stayed at the little rooms with kitchens right next to the main hotel. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. They will help book any sort of excursion and are very helpful with recommendations for the island. The pool was lovely with sun loungers and the water was warm enough to swim in. The view of the ocean just outside was great. The only negative thing was the noise from the nearby bars/clubs. Most nights there was pretty loud music that would end around midnight. However, our very last night was a Friday night and there was louder than usual DJ music until 4 am. It was so loud it felt like they were in the living room. We did not get much sleep because of the noise that night and had to get up for an early flight. The other weekday nights the music didn't bother us as much, I'm sure its just much louder and longer since it was a Friday night. Other than that it was a wonderful place to stay. Read less

Our second visit. Little has changed. Charming hotel. As clean as an operating theatre. Nice, large rooms, all with excellent views. Staff exceptional. Only negative. Can be affected by loud music from nearby club/ restaurant from 9pmto 2am. Will affected light sleepers. Hotel cannot improve this as outside their control.
