My husband and I stayed at the resort for our 5th year anniversary. We have traveled to numerous Secrets and Sandals resorts and even with the lack of butler service, which is the main reason we enjoy Sandals, this is the 2nd best resort we have been to. The resort is laid out beautifully and each of the preferred buildings has a concierge to assist you throughout your stay. The restaurants are the best we've experienced BY FAR! We usually don't care to wake up for breakfast, but once we discovered the buffet at World's Cafe we set our alarm to make sure we were there by 10am and could enjoy an hour of service. Additions like the chilaquiles were amazing and something I hadn't experienced at other resorts. They are freshly made so do yourself a favor and try them out. The entertainment was especially good at the resort. Typically, we don't stop for the shows, but we were so immersed just passing by and hearing the music. There are so many romantic places such as hammocks and rockers where you can sit and enjoy the entertainment. They often provided snacks and drinks for you to grab and enjoy as well as you take it all in. There was not a restaurant that disappointed and the Barefoot Grill was always on point. They usually provided a special drink or additional food for you to try which really added to the variety. All the food was just amazing! The staff was wonderful whether you are a preferred guest or not. Every time we stepped into the lobby we were greeted by multiple people who asked if there was anything they could help us with. We enjoyed this resort thoroughly and will absolutely be back for another trip. Read less

This is our third visit to Secrets Maroma and it amazes us that we love it more and more with each visit. The staff cannot do enough, always smiling and happy to help and never disappoints. Even before you know you need something, they are there for you. They say we are family and we feel the same. We can’t wait to go back to our paradise.

We’ve been to many all-inclusive between Cancun and Tulum. As the most expensive one so far, we hoped Secrets would blow our mind and for the most part it didn’t disappoint. Some highlights were big beautiful rooms, amazing service, a gorgeous beach, chairs at the beach comfy and spaced far apart with plenty of shade, very good food, lots of activities, top booze at the many bars that stayed open most of the day, and decent entertainment. I wish there had been more buffets for dinner, as the breakfast and lunch buffets were fabulous. I especially enjoyed the fresh tortilla creations at breakfast. It was also nice not having to make reservations for dinner. My only quibble was that my second floor partial ocean view balcony at room 2420 picked up condenser noise from the seafood restaurant by the pool. I was hoping to hear the sound of swaying palms and birds. The resort did offer to move us, so this could have been fixed. There was also some noise from the rooms above us (concrete construction means all sounds are amplified). If you want a top floor room, you will have to buy into the preferred price level. Though I believe the jungle view rooms may have top floor non-preferred pricing. If we went back, I’d go that route. When reading these reviews I always want to know if I am going to have to get up at the crack of dawn to find a spot on the beach. I got up at 7:30 or so and there were always plenty of chairs available. If you are not particular about where you sit, I imagine you can find chairs at any time. The preferred section of the beach had their view of the ocean blocked by Bali beds. Luckily there were two non-proffered sections of the beach with better views. All in all it was a very relaxing week at a lovely beach, with good food and great service. We like to keep trying new places, this place has set the bar high. Read less

We received excellent service from everyone at this property. Our Concierge, Emmanuel, provided top notch attention and continually asked how he could help us. He was very kind and polite every time we talked with him. My wife has a Gluten Allergy and we received special attention from many of the managers, especially Gabriella. She showed up at almost every meal we ate to check if my wife was finding enough Gluten free options. Her genuine concern for my wife's diet restrictions was impressive. One of our favorite restaurants was Bordeaux, and our favorite waiter was Domingo. He has been there for many years, and is very professional at his job. I have been to approximately 10 different Secrets properties and this is now my new favorite. Read less
