While I did not have the best experience at the resort overall, I had an amazing experience at the Royal Spa. My spa therapist was Zenith. Hands down the best massage I have ever had and I have had plenty. She was professional, skilled at what she does and attentive to my needs. Thank you Zenith for an incredible massage.

Hotel itself is beautiful and in a lovely location with very friendly staff and excellent food and restaurant options. Personally from own experience I would not upgrade. It does come with benefits like butler service and dining areas for diamond and hideaway guests only however…. We have found normal Royalton passes to be using these facilities. The butlers only seem to be good at booking the table reservations which did help as trying to get a booking at the restaurants seemed some what tricky. When dining in the ‘fully booked’ restaurants it amazed me with all the empty tables. Service itself is very slow especially waiting half and hour to get served at the ‘Score’ bar in an evening. The men seem more interested in looking for potential suitors. The journey from the airport to the hotel was very long and roads are not great. If you get travel sick as I did, make sure you take some sickness tablets as soon as you get off the plane. We booked a horse ride online direct with ‘North Point Riding Stables’ which the hotel was not offering under there excursions which baffled me. We found this to be amazing and literally next to the hotel rather than travelling an hour away from the one that they use! Horses were looked after and the hack was beautiful with us going into the sea. Read less

We cannot for the life of us understand the neagtive reviews. The ONLY two negatives we experienced were out of the resorts control. The almost 2 hr ride from the airport is horrible, can easily get car sick and the mosqitoes are killas. The “luxury” rooms (we are in two luxury ocean front suits) are falling apart (the bathtub that was clearly already broken actually came apart) and the furniture is all stained, chipped ans dirty. The balconies aren't cleaned and full of ants. One of our rooms has ants in the room. Not that we would sit on the balcony to listen to the drunk guests belt out kareoke at the restaurant bar So far awful waste of vacation time. Low budget cruise ship on land. Read less

Beautiful property but needs updating. We stayed at the Hideaway, Stephen, Brandon, and Inga were professional and fun bartenders. Our favorite restaurant was the Dorado, the other restaurants food was lacking in flavor. The pools and grounds were clean and they offered plenty of activities.
