The hotel

Once in a lifetime you stay somewhere truly exceptional. Where every detail’s polished to perfection – from the Tiffany tea plates to the fleet of Rolls Royces. That’s The Peninsula. Transporting you back to the glittering 1920s, Hong Kong’s oldest hotel still promises timeless traditions, from being welcomed by white-liveried ‘Peninsula Pages’ to taking afternoon tea in the lobby, where dainty finger sandwiches, pastries and scones are served to the delicate sounds of The Lobby Strings. They also transport you deep into local life, with The Peninsula Academy providing experiences from dim sum making to caviar courses, and from helicopter tours to pastry chef classes for children. And, after all the excitement, you can retreat to your luxury guest room, perhaps overlooking the harbour, in the heart of Tsim Sha Tsui.

This icon of a hotel really lived up to the hype! The room we had was spacious and just jammed with everything you could ever need. The service deserved 7 stars, they anticipated what you need and had you covered anywhere you were in the hotel. They were all so friendly full of smiles. This is a perfect spot to explore Hong Kong from.

Had a wonderful, extraordinary time at The Peninsula. I am writing this review to highlight the great service that The Peninsula provides, particularly commending “Hannah” who we met when we checked in last December 21. She handled our check-in very politely, very professionally. I am very impressed and I feel that she deserves to be commended for her kindness and professionalism. Kudos as well to Liezl, who guided us to our room. More than the tasteful and luxe ambience of the rooms and the hotel itself, it is really the polished skill and excellent service that this hotel provides that will stand out and will make you want to go back. The only con during Christmas holidays, the hotel is teeming with people who are not really diners, guests or shoppers of the arcades. People just come in and linger to take photos and this somehow diminishes the exclusivity and privacy that guests would also like to savor or enjoy while at The Peninsula. At some point, we felt like we were at a regular mall when we passed by the hotel lobby to access the elevators going to our room. Read less

Everyone knows that the hotel is fabulous- and it is. But, in addition , the staff goes the extra mile. Our daughter needed to see a doctor while we were in Hong Kong and the hotel made an appointment for us and accompanied us to the appointment to make sure she was well taken care of. I can’t express enough how helpful this was in a city where… Read more

Our daughter needed to see a doctor while we were in Hong Kong and the hotel made an appointment for us and accompanied us to the appointment to make sure she was well taken care of. I can’t express enough how helpful this was in a city where there is a language barrier and you don’t know your way around . I wouldn’t stay anywhere else in Hong Kong. Read less
