The hotel is located in Havelock, about 10 minutes walking distance from the Havelock MRT station. It is also located by the Singapore river and has a long stretch of boulevard, dotted with little eateries and other outlets. Bicycle rentals are available nearby. The bus stop is close to the MRT station as well. The hotel is run by staff that have taken ownership of their duties and that speaks volumes about the way things are run here. The staff is polite, well mannered, accomodating, well groomed, helpful and speak to the point. The hotel has an air of sophistication going for it and is run like a well-oiled machine. The main entrance is well paved and has tons of space for guests to lounge around for taxis and personal cars, and bellboys to unload luggage easily and comfortably. The hotel lobby is wide, spacious and has plenty of space to move about before checking in. The hotel enthusiastically introduces themes and decorations in keeping with local seasons and festivities. Luckily for us, we got to see Christmas decorations as well as Chinese New Year decorations. They were done tastefully and right in the centre of the lobby accompanied by soothing music. The breakfast buffet has a nice spread and includes options for pure vegetarians like idli sambar, fruits, poha, paratha, upma and a couple of Asian vegetarian preparations. It is housed behind the reception in an area which has a high ceiling and brightly lit by the natural morning light. Our room was the Grand Deluxe Waterfront Twin. We could see part of the Marina Bay from here. The room was brightly lit each morning. It had all the essentials: Tea, coffee, creamer, sugar pouches, heating kettle, iron, safe, toiletries, etc along with a dedicated tap for drinking water which was very convenient for us to fill-on-the-go. The room also had an AI-enabled bluetooth speaker. It could execute instructions such as turning the AC and lights on/off, calling the concierge, update on the latest attractions, sightseeing around the hotel, etc. The swimming pool was small but neat and hardly crowded. The gymnasium seemed to be well equipped, having an outdoor calesthenics station as well. Unfortunately we did not find enough time to explore the other restaurants connected to the property such as Sansara (Indian) and The Grand Shanghai Restaurant. Overall, my family and I were very comfortable the the hotel and felt very relaxed at the end of a hectic day. After hopping around MRT stations and walking several kilometers a day, we would arrive at our hotel room, let open the curtains and relax with a cup of coffee looking at the Singapore skyline. I wish I was granted a waterfront view when I requested the front desk :) I wish restaurant staff is a bit more polite when she told us to leave our luggage in the concierge area. However, overall other services, staff and facilities are all very good.
