Nice hotel but damp and mould in rooms

The hotel is nice, a very modern American style, big pool, nice food and the locations is not too bad. Not much around but a short taxi ride to shopping centre and Hua Hin centre.

However the damp problem in the room is really bad- we were a big group and everyone’s rooms were the same, an obvious damp smell, mould that instead of being treated has been painted over. The give away other than the strong damp mouldy smell, is the photo frames in all the rooms still have mould spots on the pictures- same in all rooms (photo attached)
Obviously for anyone with asthma or breathing issues this is not safe.
If they managed to properly address and fix the issue rather than try cover it up, I would stay again as the rooms where quiet, spacious, clean and comfy.

We’ve been to Amari a couple of times before we finally checked in, their Christmas party was wonderful and it’s good to have a day pass there. Very nice pool area and very nice staff. They are always warm and smiling. Breakfast is good, but definitely not overwhelming, coffee isn’t the best in the world and the ice coffee they offer is very sugary. The men’s bathroom nearby the pool area has a very bad smell of urine, which some in my company have mentioned to the staff. Our children just want to use the women’s bathroom 😂.
The room that we have has had some issues, like very noisy air conditioners, which after complaining a couple of times, the staff took care of it, but unfortunately we had a couple of rough nights where we had to alternately switch on and off the AC, because of the heat. We had flickering lights in the room and they took care of it by removing the lights, which we would’ve preferred if they switched, because the bedroom might feel a bit dark at night. We had other minor issues with a balcony door that wouldn’t open and coffee machine that wasn’t functioning, but the staff listened attentively and helped us out.
Overall, the staff are kind, listen and try to accommodate, but rooms seem to need some updating. For a not so expensive price, I would recommend Amari.
