The hotel

In arguably the prettiest spot on Koh Samui, the Chaba Cabana Beach Resort is a bright and cheerful island escape on the soft white sands of Chaweng Beach – studded by palm trees. From rooms to reception, it’s been designed with a tropical tribal flavour. Cashing in on its beachfront spot, its pool stretches out towards the sands and its restaurant windows open up to reveal infinite views of the sea. But, if you can tear yourself from the vista, it also puts you just a walk from the shops, bars and restaurants of lively Chaweng itself, making it ideal for relaxation and recreation.

Where is it

On the northern end of Chaweng Beach, within walking distance to the bars, restaurants and shops. Transfer time from Samui International Airport: 10 minutes.

Hotel information

80 rooms. All with air-conditioning, satellite TV, in-house movies, telephone, mini-bar*, fridge, tea/coffee-making facilities, safe, hairdryer and bathrobes. Deluxe Rooms are located in the hotel building to the rear of the resort and have a balcony or terrace overlooking the gardens, with 1 king-size bed or 2 single beds, sleeping maximum 3 adults or 2 adults and 1 child.

Deluxe Building rooms as above but are located in 4-story building, few minutes walk to the beach.

Deluxe Villas are the same as Deluxe Rooms but located on the ground floor closer to the beach, with 1 king-size bed or 2 single beds, sleeping maximum 3 adults or 2 adults and 1 child.

Complimentary shuttle transfer to and from Chaweng Centre as per schedule. Samui Airport transfers* (advance booking and supplement required). 

C-Front Restaurant (International and Thai dishes), Cabana Beach Club (serving light meals, snacks and drinks).

Beachfront swimming pool and garden pool with kids' section. Beachfront Chaba Masage Centre*. Thai cookery classes*. Kids' playground.

Room was ok...had all I needed. Building construction is old and tired and noises can be heard from everywhere. Staff friendly. Breakfast ok. Pool was nice. Too far to walk into Chaweng...they offer a shuttle 2x day. A few local eateries and stores within walking distance. All in all a disappointment and the travel company did do a partial refund as they advertised it "private beach" Read less

good location giving great views across the bay, sea is as clear as, allowing people to walk along way out Very peaceful and relaxing with a short cab ride into Chaweng centre with lots of bars and restaurants, Jimmy Wus bar was a favourite with live bands on every night staff here at the hotel are very friendly and accomodating, nothing seems too much trouble.Good choice of food at breakfast ,fantastic fresh omlettes cooked with a smile we arrived 23rd October for 9 nights and didnt see any rain, temperatures got as high as 36 c .I had 2 nights in hospital nothing to go with hotel but staff moved us into ground floor accomodation as I had a mobility problem which was lovely. The owner asked my wife how I was every day whilst in hospital which was appreciated and even took my wife to the hospital when needed We would like to give a shout out to jampen for his efforts and friendliness for our family as nothing was too much trouble, a great asset to the hotel Read less

We have travelled the world extensively and it blew us away, the Thai’s who work here are amazing, friendly,helpful and so so polite as they all are. The rooms are nice and do what they say on the tin, the only gripe is you open the front door and you are literally in your bedroom for all to see, if you are having a lay in. Could do with some kind of screen or break for a bit more privacy. The WiFi is shocking and unless you are in the lobby or restaurant you won’t have any signal which in this day and age is more than a little annoying especially with 2 kids in tow. The view of the beach from the pool will keep you coming back for more ! Read less

Right at the corner of Chaweng beach. Quite steep to get to at first if you riding bike or driving but you will get used to it if everytime you leave the hotel or come back. The normal rooms have flights of steps at level 3 highest so carrying heavy luggages will be hard. Great ocean view & really peaceful at nights. All the guest service officers are friendly and attentive. We rent vehicle from hotel. Good quality and no deposit required. Will come back. Read less
