My most distressing experience this year occurred when we arrived at the hotel around 12 PM with a toddler. The hotel reception staff were unprofessional and showed a complete disregard for the fact that we were traveling with a young child. We were made to wait indefinitely, being told that the rooms were still being prepared, only to discover that the rooms were locked and no cleaning was taking place. This was clearly an effort to strictly enforce their 3 PM check-in policy. Furthermore, they did not offer us any seating or space to accommodate ourselves while we waited. After nearly pleading for assistance, we finally received our room at 1:30 PM, despite having been stranded since 8 AM following our flight from India.
As for the property itself, it was quite average and, in no way, deserving of a 4-star rating. The rooms resembled standard 2-3 star accommodations, compounded by the extremely discourteous behavior of the staff. The so called private beach is not private as there is a lot of public in all times.

The hotel location is perfect - only 5 min walk into Ao Nang and also to the long boats from trips to the islands and across to Railay one way and to the Monkey Trail and beach from restaurants the other way.
All staff we spoke with were friendly and provided great service. Would agree with other reviews that there are not enough staff at the pool bar. Not the fault of those working who were busy, but consistently took ages to get served.
The breakfast was okay. Lots of choice but limited variation each day. And coffee machines were out for a few days with only the basic black coffee option available. The hotel location lends itself to having breakfast overlooking the beach but alas breakfast is without a view and by the hotel reception which seems a shame. All the other restaurants along the beach front have breakfast with a seafront view.
The sewerage smell was evident at times but not overpowering.

Fantastic New Year’s Eve party with buffet and entertainment. The Triple G singers/musicians are especially good. They performed an impressive range of songs 3 nights a week.
The breakfast buffet is delicious, covering all standard items on a breakfast table in addition to freshly made omelettes, soups and lots more.
Front desk staff are also very helpful with booking and arranging boat trips and other activities.
I would highly recommend this hotel.

Very disappointing stay.
Price/value so bad as very noisy and other guests smoking outside our veranda so no privacy. Breakfast was 3 star quality but service 2 stars.
Sands pool bar only 1 star service. Guess much more staff is needed. Waiting time was extremely long! Room was clean but old thin towels (no change) - cannot call it 5 star hotel
