The hotel

The Centara Grand Beach Resort Phuket occupies a stunning location, overlooking a secluded part of Karon Beach. very poor service for a premium property . the staff were non cooperative and also not communicative as they could not even speak english properly and attitude was deplorable

Our rooms were lovely and clean and housekeeping are very good! The adults only pool is perfect and the Ripples bar there is great. Special mention to the incredible barman Oh at Ripples pool bar, he deserves every wonderful recognition for his amazing personality and excellent work ethic. He went above and beyond during our stay here to make us feel welcome and he was always happy to see us. He never stops, he is always busy ensuring everyone is happy and always makes sure the pool area is clean and tidy. He always made time to talk to us and gave us great recommendations about the local area. He is an absolute credit to the Centara resort, a truly wonderful person and fantastic barman! Read less

Despite the upscale nature of the property, check-in was a lengthy and unorganized process due to understaffing. Our room, located on the third floor, was outdated and in need of renovation. The unpleasant odor forced us to contact the hotel, who promptly provided a vaporizer that alleviated the issue. Dinner was equally disappointing, with cold and seemingly leftover food, save for the Thai tea and desserts. It's a shame that our expectations were not met at this supposedly high-end establishment. Hotel is located on a roadside cove on the beach, right at the northern end of Karon beach. Good location, nothing between hotel and the sea. Hotel is made of several interconnected buildings, partially on steep hillside, so not for wheelchairs. Rooms are modern looking. In my grand deluxe room in the corner there is a large balcony with multiple lounging possibilities. Also both shower and a separate bathtub. Large windows, good view directly to sea. Small adult pool area is nicely tucked away on hillside, with good seaview. Main pool area is medium-sized, pretty crowded. Restaurant selection is limited. Main restaurant doubles as both the themed buffet dinner and as ala carte at the same time. The other bistro styled lunch restaurant serves rather international dishes. Would be nice if local fish would be more prominently on the list instead of salmon and sea bass. The road between Karon and Patong runs right behind the hotel, which may cause sounds to some rooms on that side. Beach is good and easily accessed, well swimmable. Karon main shops and restaurants are 10 min walking distance, so well located also for going into city. Read less
