The hotel

Split between Harbourside and Beachside, there are 200 private, tropical acres to explore at the new golden era of the historic Boca Raton resort. Having undergone a massive transformation, this beautifully exclusive hotel is great for adding on to a Miami or Orlando trip, for that beachside relaxation and indulgence. One iconic resort, made up of 5 distinct hotels, the Baca Raton offers a variety of accommodations from beachfront suites to bungalows hidden away in the gardens. From poolside relaxation to thrilling waterfront adventure, there are a host of activities on offer, not least the ‘extraordinaty experiences’ such as private boat trips, sunset dining, or for golf enthusiasts, ‘The Course Is Yours’, which closes off the 18-hole championship course for you to enjoy exclusively, complete with branded apparel and sunset drinks to round off the day. Whilst there is a VIP feel to the resort, it’s great for any ages. The Banyan bunch kids club offers a fantastic activity schedule for the little ones, whilst the splash pad and 5-story water slides offer perfect respite for them on a hot day in the Sunshine state. Whilst they’re entertained, be sure to book in for a treatment at Spa Palerma, a 50,000sq ft secluded oasis offering indulgent experiences such as the Diamond Facial and Gemstone Body Ritual. However you choose to spend your day here, there are plenty of options when it comes to staying fed and hydrated, with 10 restaurants, bars ,and cafes serving up everything from grab and go items to fine dining formality. For a taste of the Mediterranean at Beach Club, Marisol and the lounge were recently unveiled, curated by lifestyle guru Colin Cowie.

Image of the Tripadvisor rating Why we keep returning to the Boca.

The reason we keep returning to the Boca is simple. The Boca pays attention to details, unlike the majority of the resorts that brag about it and then fail to deliver. I can’t say I’ve never had an issue but what I can say is that whenever I have had one ( which has been very very seldom) it is immediately resolved to my complete satisfaction.

The location is beautiful and there are indoor and outdoor spaces to just sit and take in views or people watch. We originally were booked at the beach club which ended up not opening on time so we were moved to a room in the Tower. Room was great but not the caliber of The Breakers or Four Seasons PB. Everyday at the pool was a terrible, frustrating experience trying to get chairs at the pool-why? Because the members from the club get preferential seating and an hour head start before hotel guest are allowed in. Same with restaurants, we were told to book 30 days out but you can only get a 4:45pm or 8:45pm even 30 days out-why? Because the members are given priority. Terrible dining experiences all around-worst of all is the breakfast-they do not have a buffet like the Breakers or Four Seasons-instead, you have one restaurant, a sit down, Sadelles, Which is great except you’ll be waiting 90 minutes to 2 hours if you get there after 8’ish. Oh, and the wait list-once again, it appears they were pulling members in first because they were demanding the staff to get them in. If you go, there are restaurants within 7 and 10 minute walking distance. You’re a 10 minute walk to downtown Boca with great restaurants. Make reservations in advance outside the property even if have to UBER. As for the pool, just get in the lazy river and forget about getting a seat. Way over priced for what you get at this resort until the hotel decides to manage the hotel as advertised. The staff is great but they can only do so much for the guests. Read less

Stayed in a 1 bedroom suite in the cloisters with my family between christmas and new years. This was probably the biggest waste of money I can remember. The bed was very uncomfortable. The living room where we had a crib and rollaway setup for our daughters did not have its own individual HVAC unit but rather this was in a corridor between the bedroom and living room and the only way to cool the living room was by blasting this A/C on high, so we only had the option of very cold or very hot in the living room, unacceptable for the nightly rate....Breakfast was very disorganized, they only had 1 outlet and no buffet option anywhere. The wait time at sadelles was 1.5 hours the first attempt, while the food was great it was soured by the wait times. The next day we tried room service and it was terrible. Went back to sadelles the next day and had to wait 2 hours...with this wait time we ended up finishing after 12pm and the restaurant billed it as lunch and the hotel would not wipe this charge with our breakfast credit until I emailed them after the stay... All restaurants seemed very disorganized with long waits and the resort did not seem to have proper staffing for a high occupancy rate. The pool was extremely crowded and difficult to get chairs but surprisingly good service from the staff given the large crowds. My wife had a spa treatment and said this was a nice experience. Unfortunately the bad heavily outweighs the good here so better off staying elsewhere because you will not see the value for prices paid. The resort recognized the poor service by offering a half night refund of a 5 night stay but that was not enough in my opinion for the poor experience. Do not be fooled by their clever marketing! You could spend an entire day just walking around. Hopefully we get back soon to spend some more time here. 3 days was just not enough! Bravo Boca team. Read less

The Boca Raton was a really disappointing experience. We escaped Hurricane Milton and The Boca Raton was the only hotel with rooms. For close to $600 we were in a minuscule "cloisters" room. (the 100 year old original hotel facility). Mattress felt like it had not been replaced since before Covid. No USB or USB-C outlets. Listed at 380 sf. Not sure the faux balcony wasn't included. Parking: $58/day. Total abuse with pricing. Rate, as explained in hand-out upon arrival, included "daily breakfast for two - $60 per person" AND a $100 "Experience Credit" which we were told could be used in restaurants or room service. On check-out we were afforded one $100 credit. We showed the hand-out to the desk person. His response was that the hand-out needs to be rewritten. He finally recognized both "credits" but only after we were expressing anger. The Boca Raton is both a hotel and a club. The club members (locals) and their kids populate the lobbies and restaurants. In a rather undisciplined world, the parents have their cocktails and the kids run wild through the lobby and restaurants unrestrained screaming in joy as they play. If this is what you want: enjoy! Otherwise, book elsewhere. Read less
