The hotel

This seaside family-fun hotel has a prime beachfront location, you can take to the sand for a sunbathe, or the sea for some kayaking at ease. A little wander along the beachfront trail will take you to St John's Pass one way, or St Pete's Beach the other (you can also get the free island hopper if it's a bit too hot for walking) so you've got restaurants, bars and shopping in either direction. Back at the hotel the sundeck is a great place to catch the rays and enjoy some family games together. And Wave Zone will keep the kids happy, with more games and a pool table, whilst you grab a drink or a snack at the cafe. When the sun is setting, head to Sloppy Joes for happy hour out on the deck, and no doubt you'll be tempted to stay for dinner with the aroma of fresh seafood around.

Where is it

Overlooking the Gulf of Mexico, this hotel is right on the beachfront on Treasure Island, just 2 miles from John’s Pass Village and Boardwalk. Distance from Tampa International Airport: 27 miles.

Well-appointed beachront rooms with cool Caribbean decor and Gulf views. All with air-conditioning, complimentary WiFi access, 55-inch flat-screen LCD TV, mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker, and safe. 

Beachfront Traditional Rooms have either 1 king-size bed, or 2 queen-size beds, sleeping maximum 4 people. 

Beachfront Studios feature a private balcony, kitchenette with a two-burner flat top stove and dishwasher, and either 1 king-size bed or 2 queen-size beds, sleeping maximum 4 people. 

Beachfront Premium Studios are the same as above, but are larger in size.

Complimentary self-parking. Free Beach Rides and Free Island Hopper both offer complimentary shuttle service in a 10-mile radius up and down Gulf Boulevard.

Sloppy Joe's on the Beach (casual beachside restaurant and bar serving Caribbean flavours and fresh seafood, open for all day dining and drinks, with regular live music). Waves Fun Zone (cafe and bar open from 11.00am daily). 

2 swimming pools and whirlpool. Rooftop sun deck with recreation games. Fitness centre. Waves Fun Zone with pool table and family games. Kayaking. Paddleboarding. Jogging trail. Bicycle hire. Yoga*. Nearby parasailing and watercraft rentals*.

The hotel has a resort fee of $35 plus tax per room, per night (payable locally, fee subject to change).

My bf and I stayed at the Bilmar on Treasure Island on May 20 and 21st of 2024, before the hurricane activity. It was a pleasant stay. Plenty of places to eat within walking distance. We ate at the VIP Mexican across the street for lunch, recommended by the front desk. It was okay, not the greatest, and very crowded/noisy with a bar inside. Ricky T's was right next door, a very nice casual place to eat in an open covered area. Good food at a reasonable price and band music was pleasant in the evenings. Everything shuts down early evening to avoid noise disturbance. Sloppy Joe's was/is part of the Bilmar, an easy place to grab a breakfast, lunch or dinner, where you can sit at picnic tables outside or inside, along with a nice bar area with tv. Food there is good and priced well. Beach towels are free to use in the resort fee, along with two beach chairs. It is quite a stroll to the beach, so gather everything you want for the trip. The room we had was clean and had been updated with sliding bath door, in room safe. Cleaned daily. They had free cookies in the lobby during the day that went fast. We didn't use the pool, but there is a shower for rinsing off. Cabana's/umbrellas on the beach for rent, and I highly suggest if you come in the summer months either bring your own or plan to rent because it is hot! Parking is tight, so if you find a place, plan to keep it if in busy season. There is a free shuttle that will carry you up and down the island for free, just tip the driver. We loved it. My Husband and I stayed here for our Honeymoon and were very impressed. The rooms were immaculate and the staff were extremely helpful. It is located in a great location within walking distance to many shops and restaurants. I highly recommend this resort.

My husband and I had a great session! We got caught in some rain but our photographer had plenty of suggestions to get enough poses before the storm. 😁 It’s smart for the hotel to offer this service and we are very happy with the resulting photos 🥰
