The hotel

We all know and love those Disney classics - The Lion King, Finding Nemo, Cars, The Little Mermaid - and Disney's Art of Animation is where you'll find inspiration from each of them. From themed swimming pools to family suites with themed decor, here you can become part of dome of your animated favourites. And it's the perfect balance if you're wanting a fun resort that's a little quieter - as it's pretty spacious, allowing for a few calmer areas. Be sure to check out The Big Blue Pool (the largest one in Walt Disney World Resort), complete with water jets and a play area for little ones. And one of our favourite perks of staying here is the Disney Skyliner Transporatation so you can enjoy a birds-eye view as you're whisked right to EPCOT or Hollywood Studios.

For the amount of money you’re spending it would be reasonable to expect a clean, pleasant room and hallway. Transportation was fab, being on the skyliner was a huge bonus especially as we had a buggy with us so we didnt need to fold when going to epcot & hollywood Only negatives - Food very repetitive Expensive when comparing to similar properties - have stayed in Endless Summer suites, 1/4 of the price and has 3 full beds rather than pulldown/sofa beds and much better kitchen facilities & permanent table, only thing AofA topped was the 2nd bathroom. Stayed here and Animal Kingdom lodge during a week in Disney. Despite a massive price difference, Art of Animation was the better choice in all categories. All of the pools are so cute, but our family made time to take a relaxing break each day at the big blue pool. Our Lion King Suite was spacious and comfortable. Having two bathrooms made getting ready for rope drop a breeze. Everyone was so kind and you can’t beat the access to the skylines. I worried my 12-year-old would find the theming too childish, but she loves art and instead appreciates the quality animation. We would love to stay again! We are so grateful for every Cast Member who helped us and shared their pro tips throughout this trip. Loved AOA! Read less

We are Disney Vacation Club members and generally stay at the deluxe villas when we go to Disney World. This trip was a booked relatively last minute to hear our daughter sing in the Candlelight Processional and took advantage of the annual passholder discounts that were available for the week we went. Art of Animation is now our favorite resort to stay outside of DVC. We stayed in a Lion King suite courtesy of a surprise upgrade from the Little Mermaid room we originally booked. The suites are spacious and well equipped. (We had stayed at AoA once before in a Cars suite with six adults and we all slept very comfortably in the sleep accommodations provided.) Disney's Art of Animation is conveniently located at the end of the Skyliner line and the stop is shared with the adjoining Pop Century Resort. The only time we found this to be a problem is at the end of the evening when departing EPCOT, the line could be somewhat long, but it moves quickly enough. The Skyliner connects the resort with EPCOT and Hollywood studios and Caribbean Beach and Riviera Resorts. There is bus service to the Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom and Disney Springs in front of Animation Hall, the main building. Animation Hall is also where you'll find the Landscape of Flavors dining and the Ink and Paint Shop, the store for merchandise and assorted groceries. The rooms are spacious with a full kitchen There is a master bedroom with 1 Queen Bed and 1 Double-Size Sleeper Sofa and 1 Double-Size Table Bed in the living area. The Lion King buildings are conveniently located near the skyline and the main building, but I didn't get the feeling that even the farthest buildings were too far from any of the important areas. Housekeeping came every other day, so the rooms were kept clean and paper goods were regularly replenished. Read less
