The hotel

Spread across two stunning islands in South Male Atoll, with gorgeous white beaches and sea views as far as the eye can see, this resort is a Maldivian paradise. Guests can enjoy crystal clear infinity pools, a range of delicious dining options, and water sports in the lagoon. Take relaxation to the next level, by indulging in a spa treatment at one of the two spas including the Ocean Spa which features 8 over-water pavilions, before watching the sunset with a cocktail in hand. Children are catered for, with dedicated play areas, a kids club, and a teen hangout area. And there’s no need for a seaplane, as this resort is 45 minutes from the airport by speedboat – what a way to arrive!

All the housekeeping service is very good , resort property are so so great , must recommended resort for coming guest to maldives . one of housekeeper Aami and our host Ippu both the Lady is so so great & friendly .. thank you for making our stay for more great and amazing ..

What's special is the variety of sealife for everyone including divers, snorkelers and walkers (just pacing the decks:). Reef manta rays (nightly just sitting behind the dive center boardwalk) are their highlight which is unique in Maldives. Reef manta rays (nightly just sitting behind the dive center boardwalk) are their highlight which is unique in Maldives. Then plenty of sharks, eagle rays, turtles (green sea and hawksbill), snuggling sting rays, lagoon trigger fish, boxfish, parrotfish, sweetlips etc. - a rather complete Maldivian sealife experience just right from the resort. This is a large resort (regular buses and smiling buggy guys get you around) with a large staff base - and all we met were intentional. Looth our host who rushed to get additional batteries when our equipment failed & arranged a special dinner at Maghrib for our anniversary, Ariff our handsome server who knew our beverage choices and setups for every meal without prompts, Rahal our roomboy who immaculately did towel animals every day in addition to great cleanups twice daily (he did this even though we tipped him only at the end), Shaun who engagingly interacted with us for dynamic daily info on all the F&B choices (plus changes with the newly minted restaurant / Club Olive) and who skilfully took care of us well without being pushy. Dr Nihal and nurse Bilijiri from the clinic (they have an operational staffed clinic which was important to us) who exude compassion - going the extra mile to order supplies from Male for us that arrived the same evening. Our best compliments are reserved for PT, a Taiwanese dive instructor, whose daily hard work giving free scuba trials led to carefully and patiently inspiring our son to get open water certified under her instruction during our stay. With over 900 staff and couple of hundred casual workers on the 3 islands, Olhuveli is representative of a Maldivian flagship (who will have the largest number of beds in Maldives) that can equal or better established international chain resorts. We had an amazing stay at Sun Siyam Olhuvei. It was memorable, peaceful and a once-in-a-lifetime experience. We stayed at Grand Water Villa with Pool and they had decorated it for us before we arrived. The restaurants were all amazing (keep in mind the prices, though). Our best experience was at dinner at Sun Siyam Orchid where we had our complimentary honeymoon dinner (4-course meal). Akash served and guided us throughout, along with Khaled and this night was made special by delicious food from Chef Mariam. Must visit. We took just the breakfast package but would recommend going for higher options (half board, full board or all inclusive). Do try out the pool at Romance Bar. It's adults only, clean and usually empty (and it's an infinity pool overlooking the lagoon). Read less
