We recently had the pleasure of returning to the Rixos Premium Saadiyat for the second time, this time as a family of three with our 18-month-old daughter. Unfortunately, we must confirm many of the complaints that have already been mentioned in previous reviews. During our first visit, there were thoughtful touches, like fresh fruit being served on the beach. This year, however, we found these small gestures completely absent. In fact, the level of service on the beach has declined significantly. Last time, staff members were prompt in bringing towels and setting them up on the sunbeds; this time, we had to manage on our own. Unfortunately, the service overall, and especially the warmth of the staff, has noticeably deteriorated. There seems to be a clear focus on catering to Russian guests, which, in such a globally oriented hotel, left us feeling somewhat uncomfortable. At reception, Russian is spoken more fluently than English, and at the kids' club, we noticed staff members who seemed disinterested and frustrated, especially with the unruly behavior of some children. The buffet restaurant, once an impressive highlight, now feels more like a bustling train station cafeteria, lacking in both service and quality. The food felt repetitive, and the overall standard was far from what we remembered. It’s a shame, as the “Rixos feeling” that made our first stay so special seems to be missing entirely. Sadly, the hotel itself also appears to be aging quite rapidly. The grandeur we experienced two years ago has been replaced with signs of wear and tear. There was a noticeable musty smell in the corridors, likely due to poor ventilation, and our room even had an unpleasant sewage odor upon arrival. When we reported this to reception, the response was, "That can't be right, no one has ever complained about this." Sadly, this dismissive attitude was all we received. However, amidst these disappointments, there were still rays of sunshine that helped us salvage some enjoyment from our stay. We would like to give special recognition to two incredible individuals: Nathalia and Selma. Nathalia was a shining star who went out of her way to ensure we had a pleasant experience, making a significant difference in our stay. She is a true asset to the hotel and an absolute gem in hospitality. Selma, another extraordinary soul, was a constant source of warmth and kindness. Her genuine care and attentiveness made us feel valued and truly appreciated. We miss her already and wish her all the best. Despite these wonderful people, we have decided that this will be our last visit to the Rixos Premium Saadiyat. Given the high price point and the overall decline in service and quality, we believe there are better options available elsewhere with a more welcoming service culture and better value for money. It's disheartening to note that many of the issues we raised have been echoed in previous reviews, yet little to nothing seems to have been done to address them. My personal belief is that the hotel relies on the fact that it is heavily booked by Russian guests, which may explain the lack of urgency to improve the guest experience. We left feeling disappointed, especially after having looked forward to our stay for so long. Unfortunately, for the price we paid, the experience did not live up to expectations. Pros Beautiful hotel, fantastic staff, excellent facilities and very clean. Room well equipped and housekeeping is excellent. Concierge and door men very helpful in organising transport and trips. Fabulous food, the best buffet we have experienced and a wide choice every day. Four lovely al a carte restaurants for evening meals – Aja, L’Olivo, Mermaid and Orient Turquoise restaurant for buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner. Peoples restaurant near the main pool for lunch. Fabulous sandy beach and a great beach bar. Also loved the fruit bar opposite the beach bar. Spa – didn’t make use of this other than to use the pool as it was adult only. Great location – a short and cheap taxi ride to all attractions. Main pool with swim up bar – didn’t use as too many children. Ice-cream and milkshakes available near the children’s aqua park and wave pool. Cons Too family orientated. Definitely favours families over couples. Needs more priority for mature couples. Definitely needs an adult only pool near the beach. The hotel did have a section on the beach for adults only (furthest from the walk way) and another adults only area on a couple of grass sections a short walk to the main pool. The aqua park and wave pool which is perfect for children could do with a bar serving alcohol and a smoking area as this would encourage more families to go there instead of the main pool. There was hardly anyone using this area when we were there for two weeks. Special thanks to Cherry – our housekeeper who looked after us brilliantly. Glen – one of the very helpful doormen. Kim – in the Turquoise restaurant for looking after us in the adults only section. Tebe – in the Spa for his care and attention at the pool. Patricia – in the Lounge bar. The Beach Bar Managers and their team – fabulous service. Read less

Rixos Saadiyat Island is hands down our favourite place to stay. My wife and I have been coming here every year for the past four years, and every time, It feels different. The service, the atmosphere, and the people make it so special. The beach is stunning the soft sand, clear water, and just pure relaxation. The restaurants are amazing, and as vegetarians, we’re always looked after so well. The food is top quality and prepared even well in Turquoise, with so much variety, and the chefs really go out of their way to make sure we’re happy. Massive shoutout to front house team Benj, Souman, Harman, Rohit, Pradip, Layla, and Nalin—you guys are incredible and always make our stay even better. The spa team, as always, was amazing and that's my wife's favourite place to be, so I got some to chill if you know what I mean =). And a special mention to my man Kurban from housekeeping—what a guy! His smile every morning made our day, and the way he looked after us was just next level. He’s an absolute star. Great memories great times - If you are looking to book the Rixos watch some youtube videos but honestly YOU JUST HAVE TO GO!! Read less

We had our first holiday as a family of four at Rixos. We had a wonderful stay. All of the staff were attentive and friendly. The food was great quality and there was lots of choice. My two year old daughter absolutely adored Alexa in the main restaurant and she really made her stay special.
