DoubleTree by Hilton Resort & Spa Marjan Island

Virgin rating

The hotel

For travellers who aren’t satisfied with a simple ‘one pool, one bar, one restaurant’ kind of holiday, this island escape overflows with choice. Its private white sand beach accompanies seven fabulous swimming pools, including a pirate-themed aqua zone for children to cool off on sun-soaked Marjan Island. It has 12 places to drink and dine, from family-style Italian Vespa to the gastropub food and fun of The Anchor, and the Arabic snacks and shisha of ShoFee Rooftop Bar. And, while the beachfront setting, eforea spa, and contemporary styling of Doubletree by Hilton Resort & Spa Marjan Island attract couples and groups of friends, families get the bonus of the kids’ club’s climbing wall, Arcade Zone, and huge playground with its climbing structures, trampolines and shaded toddler area.

Our stay at DoubleTree by Hilton Ras Al Khaimah was overall enjoyable with some great moments and a few small misses. The hotel staff truly made our stay memorable—they were attentive, friendly, and always helpful. They even surprised me with a decorated room for my birthday, which was such a kind and thoughtful gesture. We were thrilled to discover the inviting pool area and decided to buy swimsuits just to take full advantage of it. The Anchor Bar provided a great environment to relax, and the buggy rides around the property were punctual and convenient, though we often found it easy to walk. The breakfast buffet was extensive with plenty of options, but unfortunately, we didn’t enjoy it as much since the food wasn’t quite as tasty as we’d hoped. Lunch at the Sanchaya Restaurant was okay-ish—the food was decent, and while the experience didn’t particularly stand out, we appreciated chatting with the pleasant and welcoming chef. A few points of improvement include the inconvenience of paying for ice and the odd rule of not being able to charge drinks to the room during breakfast hours, which meant having to pay by credit card on the spot. Additionally, the digital key occasionally gave us trouble, which was slightly frustrating. Despite these minor issues, the spacious rooms, beautiful views, and welcoming staff made it a memorable stay. With some small tweaks, this could be a truly exceptional experience for guests. Maybe it’s better to stay in the rooms with a garden view. Construction works 24/7 all around, laud all the time! The staff is nice and helpful. Food - all inclusive - for us, not a pleasure. You can find everything and eat how much you like but the joy of eating is missing. Read less

Very nice hotel but all inclusice was a disappointment. Only one restaurant where to eat all the meals. We have two children and for them the best thing is to have ice cream by the pool. Here you can have ice cream by the pool only 15.00-17.00 and soft drinks not until 12. Other than that it’s a nice hotel, consider booking ultra all inclusive
