Firstly, the staff. They're great. They work their socks off and always doing so with a smile on their faces. They work extremely long hours and always provide a professional and welcoming service. Rixos v Hilton Hilton wins - This hotel used to be a Hilton. It changed brands in 2024 to Rixos. Unfortunately, since its transition, it has lost its wow factor. Before, there was a bar strategically placed on the beach. It was always busy. It was a short walk from the sunbeds on the beach and the pools. That bar has now disappeared, and Rixos, in their infinite wisdom, have decided to change it to a fruit only bar. No more alcoholic beverages being served... it solely provides guests with fruit, fruit drinks, and fruit infused water. Oh, and unlike before, it's only open from 2pm till 5pm ('sunset'). This means you have to walk a fair distance to the main bar. 'The main bar' / the 'Highlights' bar... Under Hilton this bar used to serve lunch. That no longer happens and it is solely a drinks only bar. Unfortunately Rixos have ruined the view of the ocean backdrop by placing a permanent stage in the way, which is incredibly ugly and an eyesore. This bar, under Hilton, was open all day. It now closes early PM and opens again at 7pm. During the hours of 5pm and 7pm there is only 1 bar that serves alcohol... the adults only bar at the steak restaurant. So, if you have children and you want a pre dinner tipple then you can't... or you wait until 7pm... by which time it is too late and you're hungry. The management have had multiple complaints about this and yet they don't seem to listen. The food is alright. It's no different to any other all-inclusive. Pretty bland, random and plenty of it. Sort it out Rixos. Stop spamming TripAdvisor with fake name dropping reviews and deal with the issues. Read less

This was our fourth visit to this hotel but the three previous stays where when it was Hilton Resort and Spa. In October 2024 it was taken over by Rixos. Previously we stayed in the beach villas and the main hotel, this stay was in a Premium Sea view Room. We arrived at Dubai International Airport and took an RTA taxi. The journey time was approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes and cost around 285 dhs. For our return trip, I enquired about airport transfers at the front desk. Monika contacted a third party transport company - Al Hamra Limousine LLC who quickly responded to me by email with a cost of 350 dhs. Very professional company who I am very happy to recommend. We were able to make both transport payments by card. Some of the staff remain from the Hilton days and some are Rixos employees from elsewhere or completely new to the area. Either way, what they all have in common is their friendly, kind and helpful manners. They genuinely do seem to care that their guests are having the best stay possible. Whilst I cannot possibly list all the names of the team members, Farouk, Islam and Kivi ensured that we were well catered for in Turquoise and that all our needs were met. Dinah met us with a huge smile and very warm welcome every morning for breakfast. In the Arela bar, Shazni was on hand to serve our drinks and ensure we were comfortable throughout. Hamza and Prazil were particularly attentive and helpful in L'olivo. Anitha, working in the pool area, was very welcoming and caring. It's fair to say that all the team members we came across, whether in the hotel, restaurants or hotel grounds, were approachable, friendly, helpful, kind and considerate. My husband and I stayed for 7 nights as a late celebration for my birthday. The room assistant had decorated the room prior to our arrival with balloons, beautiful towel art (in the shape of a tall birthday cake) and flower petals. Later came a small and very delicious birthday cake - thank you very much. Our room was kept very clean and items were restocked, we were extremely comfortable throughout our stay. Rixos will obviously begin to make changes here and it will be interesting to see what those will be moving forward. One aspect of this hotel which my husband and I particularly like, and have done since first visiting in 2011, is the space. We enjoy walking along the beach around the cove and the roomy feel of the hotel grounds. The all inclusive aspect includes evening dining in the a la carte restaurants which can be booked from 9am the previous day. The main buffet restaurant (Turquoise) is also available for dinner every evening so there's a choice of restaurants available. A couple of points I would like to make are; Turquoise would benefit from softer lighting during dinner hours; L'olivo would benefit from changing the pasta of the day more regularly; Toro Loco would benefit from having more choice on the all inclusive menu. We did not eat at Sol or Orient but did enjoy coffee and drinks on the deck of Sol which is a nice setting on the beach. It would be nice to see an Indian/Asian restaurant at the resort. I appreciate all guests have different requirements and tastes, these are purely mine and my husbands thoughts. There is regular evening entertainment, we particularly enjoyed the Moulin Rouge show and there seems to be a lot of activities available for children. Overall, I would definitely recommend Rixos Al Mairid Ras Al Khaimah. Read less
