The hotel

Boasting the world's most famous zip code 90210, the Beverly Hilton is the home of the Golden Globe awards every January, making it one of the premier places to see and be seen. This hotel is a favourite with the stars, a glittering landmark since the 50s that has hosted the likes of Marilyn Monroe and is also where she received her Favourite Actress Golden Globe in 1962. A walk through the corridors will give you an idea of the glamour and fame that have also passed through over the years, all of the pictures were taken in the hotel itself. Guest rooms are large and most have a terrace or city views, whilst each room is fitted out with a tablet to allow you to order room service and other guest services. The pool terrace is spacious with plenty of areas to relax after a long day of sightseeing. Theres a fire pit for cooler nights, and the pool itself is the largest in Beverly Hills. After working up an appetite you can head to CIRCA 55 for casual dining, but there’s lots of choice nearby too.

As far as hotel accommodations go, the Beverly Hilton offered enjoyable amenities and comforts expected of staying in Beverly Hills. However, the Beverly Hilton has what no other hotel in which I've visited has: concierge Mrs. Hayedeh (pronounced like "Heidi") Lopez. I called a couple of months prior to my first visit to Los Angeles (let alone Beverly Hills) fand was fortunately that Mrs. Lopez was working at the time to answer. I explained I needed to rent a tuxedo locally for a black-tie business event and was flying from the East Coast to attend. She provided me with both a name and number at Elite Tuxedo (2074 Westwood Blvd.) and told me to share that "Hayedeh from the Beverly Hilton" referred me. They could not have been any more accommodating -- especially since I was organizing all this over the phone from across the country in advance of my visit. Mrs. Lopez and I kept in touch after that initial call, especially as the date to visit drew near. She asked me about transportation from LAX to the hotel. After politely declining her overtures to arrange the more expensive option offered from the Hilton, she gave me exquisitely detailed instructions to navigate to where at LAX I could retrieve alternative independent transport at a lot referred to as "LAX-IT." She remembered I had never been to the area or the airport and recognized how disorienting it may be, especially after flying over eight (8) hours. Her directions were spot on and I arranged my own transport to the hotel. I was a passenger in this vehicle for all of five (5) minutes before I questioned the wisdom in not accepting Mrs. Lopez's offer of using hotel transportation. This particular driver was somewhat heavy-footed with the accelerator AND the brake, which served as the catalyst for a degree of motion discomfort I endured throughout the congestion of highway traffic allllllll the way to the hotel. If you have never experienced the stop-and-no-go highways in Los Angeles, may you never be in the position I was in - remembering that I willingly chose my reality vs. the multiverse alternative proposed by Mrs. Lopez where I would have been comfortable. Upon my arrival to the Beverly Hilton, door service and front desk reception were wonderfully patient as I staggered out of the vehicle to check in. I did not get to actually meet Mrs. Lopez as she was not working the day of my arrival, but she still made me feel as though I was some kind of celebrity by having a chocolate welcome treat sent to my room on behalf of the Beverly Hilton. Interestingly, the staff member who delivered it refused a tip because "this is from the Hilton, sir." Because of my lack of appetite from the transport I chose and exhaustion from my journey, that kind courtesy Mrs. Lopez extended to me served as my only sustenance that day and night. I suspect if it was not for Mrs. Lopez taking interest in my particular travel itinerary, the Hilton may not have noticed me from any other guest that night (perhaps I am wrong; maybe the Beverly Hilton does this as standard operating procedure). I finally got the chance to meet Mrs. Lopez for a few moments during her shift the next day. Because she was working, I was able to watch her balance answering phone calls, assisting her colleagues, engage other hotel guests looking for guidance or assistance on a whole range of situations (one needed help with a large package return, another with entertainment arrangements, another with restaurant reservations, etc.), and briefly welcoming me. She handled each challenge professionally and attentively, even though each was unique to each respective guest (and there was no lull between requests for her attention). She even provided me a set of "this is where you want to go" knowing I only had a few hours to sight-see before my business affair kicked off. If it was not for Mrs. Lopez's guidance, I would not have known to visit certain locations near Rodeo Drive with what limited time I had. I obviously recommend the Beverly Hilton for a stay, but if you want a truly exceptional experience, only do so if Mrs. Hayedeh Lopez is working when you are staying there. She will do all she can ensure you feel like a V-I-P. To my experience, she really introduced the degree of luxury worthy of the Hilton reputation in Beverly Hills. Read less

Great stay.. We come every year. This year, they told us hotel was under renovation, but that was not an issue. They gave us beautiful room with gorgeous view of mountains and city, and no noise. Restaurant is on top floor and wonderful views, and food was delicious.

Stayed there for 4 nights with an assumption it will be decent place to stay. On the contrary it turned out to be bit of a trouble. It’s a great property etc but the staff could handle it better. I remember sharing my views with Sandy who was GM back then but not sure if she acted on it.

Wow! Just Wow! From the first greeting at Valet Parking to check in service was exceptional.
