The hotel

In a city of fabulous excess where big is always beautiful, the 5,000-room MGM Grand takes the XXL biscuit. The world’s second largest hotel features a 6.5-acre Grand Pool Complex containing four swimming pools, three whirlpools, Vegas’ longest lazy river, and waterfalls. The Wet Republic Ultra Pool holds seasonal pool parties too. And that’s just for starters, as the MGM Grand hosts huge sporting events, top shows such as Ka by Cirque du Soleil, Virtual Reality and famous performers such as David Copperfield. On top of that, Hakkasan regularly hosts DJs Steve Aoki and Lil Jon. Peckish after all that? Then take your pick from a mouth-watering range of restaurants that satisfy pretty much any mood and taste you can imagine.

I stayed at the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas with my family, and I can honestly say it was the worst experience I've ever had at a hotel of this level. During my stay, we were affected by a water leak that damaged our clothes. Despite creating a report while I was still at the hotel, no action was taken to address the issue. When I checked out, I assumed the situation would be handled, but more than a week passed and they never contacted me. I took it upon myself to contact them via email, and after countless back-and-forth emails, I have only wasted my time with no resolution or compensation. For a hotel with such a reputation, I expected much better service and accountability. I am extremely disappointed with how this situation was handled and will not be recommending this hotel to anyone. Read less

The room that I initially booked was no longer available at time of check in. I paid for late check out, which the front desk confirmed and notified me that check out would be at 3pm. Only problem with this late check out was that the housekeeping opened our room around 12 noon without our consent, and had no clue that we had a late check out. Lastly it took the bell desk 45 minutes to bring my bags, I would understand if they had taken the bags from my room, but they did not, I checked them in because I had 2-3 hours to kill before my flight and didn’t want to walk around with luggage. Thankfully the hotel is near the airport if not I wouldn’t have made my flight. Read less

Did not receive response and room was not cleaned. Had difficulty finding correct elevator after trying to use digital check in and key. Went to front desk and was directed to correct… Read more

Generally outdated hotel with minimal amenities. I was there for a convention and the business facilities are fine (a shorter walk compared to some properties) but rooms are outdated. Hot water for showers was inconsistent, some of the elevators were closed, leading to insanely long lines (30+ mins) to get back to my hotel room.

What a terrible experience this has been so far. Staying here to attend a conference, thought the convenience would make it worth the price, well I’m already doubting that. What a terrible experience this has been so far. Staying here to attend a conference, thought the convenience would make it worth the price, well I’m already doubting that. Mattress is uncomfortable and sheets are rough. Can’t control the AC to turn it down and make the room temp more comfortable. There is no coffee machine or supplies in my room. Thought it was a housekeeping mistake. Not a mistake, they don’t provide them. For a $39 per day resort fee, you would think I could have coffee in my room at my convenience. Can’t even get room service right now as they don’t open until 6 am. Read less
