The hotel

Conrad New York Downtown is a statement hotel in a stunning location, overlooking the Hudson River from its spot in Lower Manhattan’s Battery Park City. As you step into its sky-scraping 15 storey lobby, it’s ready to wow: there’s the instant impact of its bold design; the multi-storey art installation by Sol LeWitt; the 24 hour fitness hub; and the sophisticated dining of ATRIO. But it does save some pleasures for higher floors. As you scale this all-suite hotel’s grand stairways, you reach more than 2,000 works of gallery worthy art; luxurious 2 room suites for all guests; and, the cherry on the top, a seasonal rooftop deck where small plates, ‘Prosecco & Ice Pop’ cocktails, and Statue of Liberty and New York Harbor views all vie for top billing.

We stayed at the Conrad during a work + fun trip to NYC from Baltimore. We were checked in by Darwin, who, in all honesty, may be the nicest representative of a hotel we have ever met. He was jovial and kind and gave us EXCELLENT suggestions for meals. The Conrad should hold on tight to Darwin -- and give that man a raise if you can. He makes the… Read more

He was jovial and kind and gave us EXCELLENT suggestions for meals. The Conrad should hold on tight to Darwin -- and give that man a raise if you can. He makes the hotel look good! Every aspect of our stay was perfect. The room was spacious and clean. EVERY member of staff we met - from folks we met in the elevator - to the kind gentleman who delivered a refrigerator to our room (can't remember his name, but we believe it was Rahman) - to the awesome guys who welcomed patrons at the door - was genuinely friendly. We left our phone charger cords jumbled up behind the alarm clock and returned to our room to find them neatly wrapped and wrangled with a Conrad brand cord wrapper! They leave no stone unturned in the effort to make their guests feel like the hotel is a home away from home. Located SO close to the 9/11 memorial and the Oculus, it is very easy to get around the city by subway. As civil servants, we typically cannot afford to stay at the NYC Conrad in any season other than winter, but it is now our favorite hotel in NYC. We will definitely return next winter. HIGHLY recommend! Read less
Image of the Tripadvisor rating Ok. Value was not there. Not convenient to public transport. Not a lot of food options on site.

No one at check in even bothered to tell us about their WiFi and TV system being down nor did they provide any estimate for repair when asked about. They almost seemed like they could care less - not great customer service quality. The room was ok but again, very expensive for what it was. I get holiday pricing, but it was over $600 a night and I didn’t see the value. The service quality did not rise to the level of what we paid. There was only one restaurant on site and it was limited in offerings - best going off property to eat nearby or elsewhere - it is NYC after all. Uber and taxi were really the only immediate transport options - during very cold weather, it was a long walk to any nearby subway stations - I was with someone who could not walk those distances. Doormen never helped us coming or going. Housekeeping failed to clean the room at all one of the days, and I did NOT have the do not disturb sign on my door. Sugar wasn’t replaced for in room coffee (I see this often - why is it so difficult to do something so simple and toss a few sugar packets in for the coffee - especially for more than ONE person?!). Towels were nice and fluffy (a pet peeve of mine when they aren’t). Air conditioning worked fairly reliably - the room was too warm without it even during the cold weather. WiFi was spotty at times. The hotel is attached to a regal cinemas theater complex which was nice and it is close to shopping downtown and the Oculus is a short walk away. All in all the hotel felt too isolated. Views were not great either given where the hotel was situated. I probably would not stay here again. Read less

Booked the Conrad as part of the AmEx fine hotels and resorts. It’s cheaper than the midtown hotels. It’s a step below luxury, but for the price point I consider it excellent. I like the all suite concept. You get more space here than at any other NYC hotel I know. Being downtown has pros and cons. On the downside, it is a subway or taxi to… Read more

I like the all suite concept. You get more space here than at any other NYC hotel I know. Being downtown has pros and cons. On the downside, it is a subway or taxi to pretty much anywhere. On the upside, it is quieter. If you want to avoid street noise, this is your spot. As others have written, the showers are truly exceptional. I thought I was standing under Niagara Falls. Read less

We spent my first mother's day weekend here. Since becoming a parent, the things that matter to me at a hotel changed dramatically. I guess all my reviews from now on will be based on how family friendly it is. If you're traveling with young kids (aka still using stroller), I'd highly recommend this place. I guess all my reviews from now on will be based on how family friendly it is. If you're traveling with young kids (aka still using stroller), I'd highly recommend this place. The room was spacious and a crib, a fridge and a microwave -- all came upon request. We had a blast [re]visiting our neighborhood again with our newborn and I loved how accessible everything is here — the Brookfield Place and the Oculus Mall. We were also able to take a nice stroll down the westside highway to the Whitney and the Little Island. Of course, it is very quiet with calming water view which you'd appreciate it if you bring kids on the trip! Read less

We arrived to the Conrad, New York downtown on Christmas Day 2024 in the evening. Check-in was smooth and they were able to combine our two separate reservations (one with cash, one with points) into the same room so we wouldn’t have to check out and then check in again. The restaurant was open under. It’s normal operating hours, which was great because it allowed us to have a stress free dinner as soon as we got there. We were on the sixth floor in room 626, with a Hudson River view. Let me tell you that you need a Hudson River view room. Every night we laid down in bed we left the curtains open and stared out the window with an unobstructed view of the New Jersey skyline. The shower was cavernous but a little bit dark for my preference. The water pressure from the rainfall showerhead was excellent and had an outstanding amount of water flow. This hotel is truly five stars every step of the way. Every night they provided an ice bucket and every time I went to grab a glass from the mini bar, I was able to have a cold and refreshing glass of water thanks to the in room, water filter station. This is the most underrated feature in a hotel room and it needs to be EVERYWHERE. There is nothing worse than having to ration an 8 ounce bottle of water each day or needing to go to the store to buy bottled water every night. We ordered breakfast every single morning to the room because the quality of the food at this hotel is top notch. The blueberry pancakes and potato medley are to die for. I feel spoiled now because they take good care of you at this hotel. Read less
