Although the beds are comfortable and the location is good, I would advise anybody reading this review to book elsewhere. 1) Elevators do not work… we were on the 32nd floor and had to wait 20/30 minutes or just give up and find alternative ways to get up/down… including the service lift!! 2) I have NEVER been charged for luggage store and I… Read more
Although the beds are comfortable and the location is good, I would advise anybody reading this review to book elsewhere. 1) Elevators do not work… we were on the 32nd floor and had to wait 20/30 minutes or just give up and find alternative ways to get up/down… including the service lift!! 2) I have NEVER been charged for luggage store and I have travelled alot, I complained and got a voucher, but when the voucher did not cover small rucksacks on top of our case, the luggage store guy (after telling him that I was given a voucher for free storage due to the elevators not working) asked me if I was expecting him to pay the additional $15 ?! I was shocked to say the least and went back to reception to get the number changed so all my bags were free… he then checked our bags and stormed off (shocking) 3) Staff rude! On asking concierge if I needed to book a taxi back to JFK she told me I needed to go outside, I then asked how I could tell if a taxi was free (we had not used taxis as we walked or got the subway) her response was “I don’t know, I don’t go out there??!! “ I have seen responses to other negative reviews reading “thanks for your reviews we will look into it and hope to see you again” but that is no good if you have paid a fortune to stay in a well known brand and expect a level of quality and service. Something needs to change or compensation should be offered. Read less
Image of the Tripadvisor rating Good location, elevator issues

The location in Midtown is very good. I had a king room which was spacious by Midtown standards. The elevators were an issue. 1 of the 3 elevators that went to my floor wasn't in service for 4 days. Another worked 50% of the time. The wait for an elevator could take 30 minutes or more. I had to get creative to get up and down.

Very disappointed in the cleanliness of the room I received. Disgusting stains all over the chair & the headboards are peeling & getting flakes if fake leather all over the sheets. Some of the elevators to the 16th floor have not been running resulting in long waits but the cleanliness is unacceptable at best.
Image of the Tripadvisor rating terrible experience this weekend! waiting for elevators for over 25 min because others were broken! what a pain!

Stayed here in Oct 2024 for 4 days. 31st floor. Room lovely, cleaned and bed made up every day, tv worked, Great views. Had breakfast 3 days, was included in room so can’t comment on prices but was good though busy, queued every day to get in. There was a series of dirty marks on the bathroom floor when we checked in. Looked like spilled black nail polish so I did assume bathroom was clean and it was a stain. However, the next day it was gone, so why wasn’t it gone before I checked in? We were charged an additional $35 a day/night but we got this back in room credits to spend in hotel. We spent it daily in the takeaway coffee/food shop which is crazily overpriced. Still don’t understand the point of it. If it was a tourist tax then why don’t all hotels charge it in the area? Just strange. Even if it is a tourist tax, it’s expensive. I’ve paid €2 in Italy for this. It’s being talked about in my hometown for £2.50 per night so $35 is excessive. We were also charged on the last day to leave our luggage, $5 per bag. You wouldn’t get that in my country, the UK, and it really does just stink of greed on the last day of your trip when you are probably only wanting to leave bags for 2-3 hours while you spend the last few hours spending/sightseeing. So yes, nice hotel, just tarnished with this greed and the $35 fee so I’d stay somewhere else next time out of principle. Read less
