The hotel

Once a button and ribbon factory in industrial-turned-artist haven Tribeca, Walker Hotel Tribeca embodies the casual yet cool loft culture of the neighborhood with curated design and programming from boutique hotelier, Bridgeton Holdings. Drawing inspiration from Tribeca’s mid-century heyday of exclusive art galleries and silver screen entertainment, the 171 room property features timeless finishes while offering streamlined modern conveniences, sleek furnishings and stylish amenities. The hotel features three food & beverage outlets, including: lofty rooftop bar, The Flower Shop, laden with elaborate gardens and inspired by Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, a sub-cellar cocktail lounge in a hidden location that was discovered during the excavation process of the building’s conversion, Saint Tuesday, and a lobby outpost of renowned Blue Bottle Coffee.

Upon arrival the hotel did not inform us that the hotel fees per night were going to be double because we booked through ann external booking service instead of directly to the hotel. The estimate was $160 and resulted in $300. We were told there was a complimentary $15 credit for meals per day but on checkout was told that we were actually paying for that credit. Another guest received a refund for the exact concern brought up at the same time while we were declined not. We called down for a bucket of ice during our stay that never arrived. The bathroom door didn’t close all the way. The only positive were the thoughtful people who cleaned our room. Not only will I not recommend this hotel, I will actively be telling people not to stay here. Read less

I stayed at the Walker Tribeca Hotel last week for a work trip and was thoroughly impressed. It offers outstanding value without compromising quality, making it one of the best options for staying downtown. From the start, the reservations team was incredibly helpful—Jennifer, in particular, was kind and accommodating when I called about different rates. Another woman I spoke with was just as helpful, though I didn’t catch her name. Some highlights from my stay: I received a complimentary upgrade to a larger room, which was quiet and spacious for NYC, with a large window and blackout shade. The bed was comfortable, with just the right firmness and nice pillows. A chocolate chip cookie delivery was a great touch. The lobby had a cool atmosphere, perfect for working and casual coffee meetings. The elevators were fast, which is a real perk in NYC hotels. The hotel’s location in northern Tribeca, right near SoHo, was excellent. And most importantly, the staff was friendly and helpful, making my stay seamless. One thing I appreciated was the pricing transparency. Frequent travelers know NYC hotels add multiple taxes and fees, but the reservations team provided the all-in price upfront. That said, when I checked in, there was a brief moment of confusion where I thought the quoted fee was additional. It wasn’t, but I’d suggest clarifying the fee structure even further—perhaps adding a website toggle to display the total cost with taxes and fees for easier comparisons. Minor refinements like this could enhance an already excellent customer experience. There are a few minor areas for improvement: The hot water was sometimes inconsistent—not a dealbreaker, but something to look into. The WiFi speed was acceptable for basic use but a bit slow for Zoom calls. I often read reviews from people staying in NYC hotels who don’t have a good benchmark for the market in terms of prices, location, and quality. Based on my global travels, this hotel is better than it is rated—it offers a fantastic stay for the price. Overall, Walker Tribeca exceeded my expectations, and I’ll be back. If you’re looking for a reasonably priced hotel in a prime downtown location, this is one of the best values you’ll find. Just keep in mind—NYC hotel rooms are always small, and in that context, the rooms here are great. Looking forward to my next stay! Read less

John, the overnight guy could not have been any nicer. I will definitely come back here to stay again. He gave a MasterClass on customer service. also, the hotel is very clean. The rooms are not huge, but the hotel is still amazing. The Tribeca location is very nice and the price is also very reasonable.
