Economy Light doesn’t include a checked bag. If you need a checked bag included, opt for Economy Classic or Delight.
When flying in Economy Light, Economy Classic, or Economy Delight, you can pay to select your seat in advance, or select your seat for free at check in. Extra bags can also be purchased at check-in.
*Passengers who are travelling between Caribbean islands on one of our inter-island services will not be able to select their seat in advance.
**Passengers flying to or from Ghana, India or Nigeria may have a different baggage allowance.

Virgin Atlantic Economy FAQs
Food and drink is included in your Economy flight, with a range of options depending on your route.
Economy Light does not include a checked bag. You get one item of hand luggage up to 10kg. Economy Classic and Economy Delight both include one checked bag of up to 23kg, plus one item of hand luggage up to 10kg.
Economy Light and Economy Classic seats have up to 31 inches of seat pitch and are 17 to 17.9 inches wide, with a recline of four to six inches. Economy Delight seats have up to 34 inches of pitch, three inches more than the standard rows, which makes a real difference on long-haul routes.
All Economy passengers can select a standard seat for free when online check-in opens, 24 hours before departure. To choose earlier, a fee applies
