Flights to North Carolina
A patchwork state where old meets new
Stunning scenery and striking architecture sit alongside the Appalachian mountain range in North Carolina. In Charlotte, you can delve into history and culture at the Levine Museum of the New South or the Bechtler Museum of Modern Art, with works from Picasso, Warhol and many more. Nearby, the incredible Biltmore Estate in Asheville is a 19th century French Renaissance chateau and America’s largest private home.
In the west of North Carolina the landscape is littered with mountains for you to explore, including Mount Mitchell, the highest peak on the Appalachian range. On the road, Blue Ridge Parkway weaves through the wilderness, and is hailed as 'America's Favourite Drive'. If that wasn't enough, then don't forget the barrier islands and unspoilt beaches – including Ocracoke, voted the best in the US – which adorn the Atlantic coast.
