Welcome to paradise ! a very special place indeed. Even though we arrived after dark we were made to feel very welcome. We were taken to our wonderful cabins just up the hill a bit. Big open bedroom with a really comfortable bed looking out to our balcony. The bathroom was big and spacious with x2 showers and sinks. The view from our balcony and our private plunge pool was amazing, i never got tired of it. The restaurant was al a carte for breakfast, lunch and dinner with different choices every night of top quality food served by the super friendly people who work there. The bar area is very nice with good live entertainment every night. You can eat and drink as much as you like but you never see anyone staggering around , everyone dresses up a bit smart for dinner (shorts are allowed) and a great time is had by all. I highly recommend and would come back again. Also a big shout out to Marlon 'The Machine' He never stops ! :) Thanks to rest of the wonderful team for a great time. Cec Read less

A special shoutout goes to Derrick and Lisa, the phenomenal bartenders who truly elevated our experience. Derrick’s creativity, sense of humor, and fun energy is unmatched! Lisa’s warm smile and impeccable service made us feel like family. Their combined energy and enthusiasm created such a welcoming and fun vibe at the bar, making it a highlight of our trip. Beautiful resort, very clean, outstanding staff on a stunning beach. If you are looking for a small luxury, quiet resort with great pools, beautiful (small) beach and the most stunning views, I highly recommend this resort and suggest booking a room with a view (best I have ever seen in the Caribbean). All staff were very friendly- great service too- and quality of drinks and food were very good. The only downside- not enough food options/variety and availability. Breakfast ends at 930am( no takeout boxes or room service and the pasteries at the coffee shop were not much/good), then Paninis is pretty much the only thing you can get until 3pm hoping you can eat one of the two “bites” options (note to resort: some people can’t eat cheese or white bread so not clear why the resort thinks Paninis is the one thing offered through the day- a bit of chips and dip and veggies or salad as an added option seems simple to add). The lunch restaurant is open only for 1.5 hours (limited menu again with no take out service). The items on the lunch and dinner menu for an extra fee are not worth it and they should be included given that the choices are so limited to begin with. That is my one suggestion for the resort- never seen such limited options at an all inclusive. Having said that, I still think the resort is amazing and would highly recommend it just be aware of their approach with food. Read less

A beautiful resort with a true Caribbean style and atmosphere, breathtaking views in every direction. What really impressed me was the hospitality of all the staff and their willingness to offer a great service. It's no surprise so many of the guests we spoke to were returning customers. We loved our Delux View Chalet. Spotlessly presented in beautifully naturally landscaped surroundings. The main restaurant, with its panoramic views, served 3 meals a day; Breakfasts plated hot or continental are served at the table and daily specials like Pancakes or Saltfish with Chop up on Sunday. 3 course Lunches and 4 course dinners were fresh, imaginative, accurately cooked, and tasty. Reception and Concierge, couldn’t be more helpful or accommodating. Complimentary beach towels on offer daily and iced water flasks. Beaches; sandy Little Fryes beach is accessed from the resort. Loungers and shades are available. Rum Punch etc is on offer from the resort beach bar along with Panini cooked to order throughout the day. Or just chose to lounge at a choice of pools around the resort, maybe snacking on freshly cooked bar snacks in the late afternoon. Bars were fantastic, great choice of premium drinks and cocktails, friendly, fun service and also a wonderful Coffee Shop throughout the day, with freshly baked pastries etc to nibble on the veranda. So an amazing stay in a top resort, that was made even better by truly attentive, caring, friendly, natural staff who have a genuine pride in their work. I’m looking forward to a return visit. Paradise!!!! This was our first stay at Cocobay and we booked it based on the previous reviews. I can honestly say that we had a fabulous time and I would highly recommend it. I have included some feedback below to help you decide if this is the place for you or not – for us we will certainly be returning! Resort and Rooms This is a quiet resort but is situated in a lovely setting. We booked a room which was ocean facing and had a plunge pool – we loved it. Do be aware, these rooms are not sleek and marble in quite the same way you would get with a traditional hotel. The rooms are individual cottages and quite rustic but very clean and within a lovely setting. If you want the plush and sleek this probably isn’t quite the hotel for you. This is about the setting and the individuality of the rooms. We loved it! Shower was fantastic and very powerful. The king size bed was a really good size king and very comfortable. There was a ceiling fan and air conditioning which was very effective. The rooms are a bit dark and it could do with a light between the clothes storage area and the bathroom. Would also benefit from a chest of drawers as although the rooms are a good size, the space for storing clothes could be better. There was a coffee maker in the room, fridge, hairdryer, iron, all toiletries. We arrived at night and so couldn’t see the view but OMG in the morning it was amazing. We loved our balcony with the two chairs and hammock and the plunge pool with two lounger was in the shade in the afternoon which was perfect for us after returning from a morning sunbathing to drift off for a snooze reading! Pools/Beach/Communal areas There are two infinity pools – both lovely. People do tend to get up early and so you are not always guaranteed to get a seat at your preferred pool but there is always space at one of them. There is a public beach very accessible from the hotel. Some people have commented on this beach being small and a nicer one 5 mins walk away (which there is) but we really loved the beach used by the hotel. You see the guys from the hotel when you go onto the beach and they will tell you which “umbrellas” you should sit by and will bring over the beach beds for you. Someone from the hotel comes around regularly to check if you want any drinks. The beach was clean and sandy. Some locals on there – didn’t give any hassle to guests whatsoever. We loved the beach. There is only one set of communal toilets on the resort. I have to say they were kept spotlessly clean but I think that the hotel would benefit from having a few more esp towards the lower pool/beach area. Food/Bars So I have seen some comments about the lack of buffet style food – for us, this was one of the main reasons that we booked this resort. We didn’t want a buffet! They become tedious and predictable. We wanted to be served and feel like we were going out for dinner in the evening. So delighted that the food was fantastic!!!! Breakfast had large choice from continental through to cooked breakfasts – cheese omelettes were great! You could order whatever you want from any part of the menu. Lunch always 3 courses – there is a choice of 3 starters, 3 mains and 3 deserts – there is also something you will like – there are also some standard items always on the menu for an additional charge which we didn’t try as the all inclusive options were great. For lunch and dinner, the options change every day. We were there for a week and didn’t have the same menu once. For dinner – in addition to the 3 courses there is also an additional course of soup or pasta – which you can have as well or you may prefer to have instead of the starters on the menu. We were delighted with the food – always presented so well and great quality – so full up at the end of each day! There is a coffee shop on site that makes fabulous cappuccinos, lattes etc as well as smoothies. This is also included within the cost of the all inclusive package. The lower pool also has a bar which makes pannins each day up until 3pm so if you are peckish (hard to see you will be) then you can order one of those from that bar. Drinks – wine including sparkling wine included by the glass (if you order a bottle you pay for it so order by the glass), beer and spirits – some local brands. An array of cocktails – wow – great choice day and night! Shout out for Marlon who was a brilliant server at the bar – thank you! There is entertainment each night – pretty low key – singer, band, steel bands – really lovely – this is a low key resort – its not party capital so if that is what you are looking for don’t come here. If you want some nice entertainment, great food and beautiful surroundings to completely unwind come here! Ashamed to same that for the first time ever on a holiday, we never left the resort so for us that is a reason to return again! Other If you are prone to mosquito bites, pls do bring a decent mossie protection spray. All the cottages are surrounded by lush tropical plants rife with mosquitos. If you invest in a decent protection spray which I did you will be fine – I got bitten only once but I did use the spray both day and night and it allowed me to sit out on our balcony at night with a drink! There are a lot of mongeese wild on the property – worth knowing so you are not alarmed by this as you will see them running around the site and communal areas – harmless and don’t bother you but may give you a shock if not expecting them. The grounds are beautiful and very well maintained. Finally, we found all the staff to be amazing. So friendly, helpful and polite – nothing too much for them to do and again, this would be a big reason for us to return. Big shout again for Marlon the bar tender – lovely. We met a lot of return guests at the hotel. will definitely be returning!!!!!!! Read less
