Great experience and location. Very clean and accommodating staff. Great golf course next to hotel that accommodates visitors of hotel. Close to shopping and many restaurants. Minutes from Carmel and the beach. Very nice pool and spa that were heated.

We’ve stayed here in past years without issues, although the hotel was aging. We heard it was getting an update but this is not a good experience here nor is there any evidence of a real update. Generally worn down hotel room, bed was clean but very firm. The carpet felt disgusting wet, looked dirty and the worst part was the strong toxic odor in the room. I’m writing this review at 3:38 am because the smell is burning my sinuses and my head is exploding from whatever chemicals are in the room. It’s some type of strong perfumed smell to cover up something and it’s literally sickening. The only reason I’m still in this room and have not showered and gone is because my husband is somehow asleep in the nasty room environment. Never again at this hotel for us and …I cannot recommend it. Read less

I highly recommend it - the service was excellent and the bed was comfy. Parking was also easy - though I opted for valet the first night as I came in late. This made the arrival very easy. The staff was also very friendly, and the coffee shop within the lobby was really nice.

The front desk staff is rude and dismissive. As someone who hasn’t traveled in a while there were some aspects of a hotel stay I forgot about. I’ve used Air BnBs and VRBO for some time and forgot about the card for incidentals. I was traveling for business and everything was covered so incidentals didn’t even cross my mind. I’ve used Air BnBs and VRBO for some time and forgot about the card for incidentals. I was traveling for business and everything was covered so incidentals didn’t even cross my mind. Anyhow the staff was ridiculously rude. To make matters worse, the breakfast greeters and staff were also terrible. They took far too long to seat us and serve us. In my opinion a hostess or server should explain that there is a buffet or you can use the menu or both. Our breakfast was included so I wasn’t concerned. The treatment was terrible. I really wanted it to be good because I love how beautiful the grounds are, but I would only stay again if they offered a free stay as a do-over. The only notable people were the guy at the juice bar, the gentleman who drove the golf cart, and the person who checked me out. Monterey is beautiful… maybe another hotel would be a better option. Really enjoyed my stay here. Staff was very friendly and the location is terrific. The spa and workout room are exceptional. The food and drink at the bar was nice and the hammock garden made a nice respit. This venue was an excellent host for our Organic Grower Summit.
