I came for a wedding and after 24 hours I was ready to go home. Honestly the buildings weee too old. The layout made getting a drink or food inconvenient especially with young kids. The major issues started with the room- the AC didn’t work and luckily the temperature was mild but it wasn’t comfortable. They initially resisted changing the room. When they finally did change the room, they did it when there was no hot water but the room we moved to had AC but turns out the hot water was out in the entire C building. Food was a major problem- the buffet was only breakfast and lunch. There isn’t enough restaurants available or open late. I ended up eating a majority of my meals off site. The bathroom with the walls the open into the room- i can guarantee that you will not have privacy if you have kids. Only good things were the beaches were nice, the staff were kind for the most part and the WiFi was good enough in the hotel room. But all of that is not enough to make the price point make any sense. Any rinkydink hotel can provide hot water and AC. This one could not. Don’t waste your money coming here Read less

Booked through the hotel and not through a 3rd party so leading up to my trip I received wonderful communication from the staff up until the day before arrival. They were attentive and helpful (or so we thought) On the day we arrived we checked in, paid for our stay, received our room key and walked out the building to head to our room. As we're walking out the building one of the front desks agents runs after us and gives us a letter that states that there is no hot water in our building (Building C). This was intentionally deceptive. Why would they wait until we're already checked in and paid for to let us know there was no hot water. After speaking to a number of guests we learned that this problem had been going on for multiple days before we arrived. We contacted the front desk multiple times about the issue and was assured that the issue would be resolved "soon". Lies. We were also told that the problem was isolated to our building. More Lies. We spoke to guests in Building B who also complained that they also had no hot water. Two days later and we still had no hot water and the resort gave absolutely no updates or options to relieve the stress that this was causing guests. After requesting a room change and upgrade for the inconvenience we were told that we would be changed to upgraded accommodations in Building A. Lies. After promising us a new room and telling us to pack up our stuff because someone was coming to move use we waited for hours and nobody came. We called the front desk yet again and was told they had no room for us to change to. WTH. I can go on and on about the lies and deceitful practices of this resort. We check out tomorrow, have been here for 4 days with no hot water, no offer of compensation and no real apology. Reprehensible. Especially considering how much this resort costs. On a positive note, the staff outside of the people at the front desk and management are amazing. The staff in the restaurants, spa and the bellhops are all amazingly kind and helpful. I wish management and the front desk would get it together. Read less

Disappointing Stay at Jewel Grande Montego Bay I had high expectations for my stay at Jewel Grande Montego Bay, but unfortunately, it did not live up to the hype. The experience was disappointing for several reasons: • The water in my room was cold for 4 out of the 5 days of my trip, which was unacceptable for a resort of this caliber. Despite paying $2,200 for my stay, I was only offered a $150 credit for this major inconvenience. • The buffet was only available for breakfast, leaving limited and poor dining options for the rest of the day. Restaurants had makeshift outdoor cooking facilities, which were unusable when it rained. • Bars closed at 1 a.m., and they were not conveniently located in every building, making it inconvenient to enjoy what was supposed to be an all-inclusive experience. • Room service was terrible—an hour-long wait for a salad and burger that was subpar. The burger meat was low-quality, and the Caesar salad lacked Caesar dressing all five nights. • On a positive note, the hotel was clean, and the staff was polite, but this didn’t make up for the overall disappointing experience. The best part of my stay was the view, but for the price, I expected so much more. I cannot recommend Jewel Grande Montego Bay, and I hope they address these issues for future guests. Read less

I went to this resort for the first time and was in total shock I checked into building C room 701 and there was no hot water upon further inquiry and voicing my dissatisfaction the moved me to room 801 which did not have a shower only a tub and still no hot water plus toilets couldn’t flush and they turned off the water because they’re working on the plumbing issues so you couldn’t use the toilet take a shower or brush your teeth. I complained to management who indicated that they’re working on the hot water heater and that there were some issues with it, this was my second day with no hot water, they then moved me to 603 same building and no hot water, but I had a shower. What’s the sense of a shower with no hot water I complained to management daily and voiced my dissatisfaction. They promised to make it right there were so many guests complaining about the same thing. I was in Jamaica to celebrate the beautiful wedding of my cousin and this did put a damper on our trip. I have asked for compensation/reimbursement and I’m still waiting. I will never visit this hotel resort again. Total nightmare Read less

Now for the negatives….dated facilities, very limited places to eat for lunch. Met many people from building C which is newer…to find out they did not have hot water. I stayed in A building, no working hot tub at my pool. Old building in need of total updating. Bottom shelf alcohol. On my final day I wanted room service coffee…I was advised they were now charging a 10.00 service fee…get real. I met many people who said they would not return here. I will not either. Read less
