A tale of two cities with the rooms. First one they gave me had a fan that sounded like a small plane, was dark and ugly. The bar had a great selection of wines by the glass. I mark down for the beaten up furniture in the rooms and hallways. The place needs a refresh and it’d be really great. Read less

Its been 45 mins and I still have not been able to talk to anyone. I finally spoke to Donna who said she was going to have a manager call me. After trying to call for an hour. Other than this issue, I was also locked out of my room at 3 pm on 3/2 when I have guaranteed late check out being an amex member. When we went to the front desk to request another key they rudely told us that we should of checked out at 11 am, they didn’t bother took look at our reservation details to check if we were amex members. Before I arrived at the hotel I called the hotel on 3 separate occasions to ask them if they could do something for daughter since it was her birthday. They told me they would, when we arrived there was nothing in my room for my daughter. It wasn’t until I complained to the front desk that they finally brought something at 9:30 pm. Read less

We spent 4 nights at the JW Marriott Turnberry with our family of 13 comprised of 8 adults and 5 children ranging in age from 1 year to 14 years old. About a month ago, I almost booked a different hotel after reading the terrible reviews. I am SO glad that I didn't and I am writing this review to help others. We had no problem checking in on a Wednesday afternoon. 2 rooms were ready early and 2 rooms were not. We headed straight to Tidal Cove and easily secured a few chairs. On the first day we ordered lunch at the counter. The next two days we had a lazy river cabana, followed by two more days without a cabana. We had no issues securing chairs with plenty still available mid-morning. The servers were excellent with or without the cabana. Shout out to Bryan and Daniel who really stood out! We put in multiple orders for food and drinks which always came out promptly. Tidal Cove was excellent for our group, with the younger children enjoying the Kiddie area while the older kids and adults rode the water slides. I thought the kids would get bored, but they kept asking to go back. The facilities and the bathrooms were very clean. My daughter stepped on a bee and the lifeguards were kind and helpful. The property is beautiful with lovely landscaping and covered walkways. The staff greets you when they pass. We stayed in a Jr double suite in the Hibiscus building. The room was large and easily accommodated our family of 4. We ate breakfast at Corsair each morning and one night for dinner. The buffet had plenty of options and the waiters were very accommodating as we all came down at different times. We never felt rushed. We also used the spa, fitness center and fitness classes. The valet is busy but was promt when we texted to retrieve our car. The hotel is about a 5 min walk to Adventura Mall which has plenty of restaurants and a 5 min drive to Sunny Isles beach and Heritage Park. If I needed to recommend areas for improvement, I suggest that they always have 4 people at the front desk. Although I didn't have to wait, I certainly saw a line at times. I also think there should be a hot tub in the adults pool. The hot tub in Tidal Cove was full of kids at all times. Lastly, I wouldn't recommend the 1st floor of the Hibiscus building facing the golf course. The view is beautiful, but it is also a loading area for the hotel so there are trucks and workers there late in the evening. All in all, it was a wonderful stay and we would return! Read less

While we come as a couple, it offers plenty for families with the water park as a huge draw. However, our favorite parts are: the 3.1 mile walking trail surrounding the property, golf of course, the adult pool, spa and fitness center, restaurants on property, and walking distance to the mall. We frequent Corsair, the onsite more casual restaurant. We love Bourbon Steak for a nicer dinner. We have also ventured over to the mall for meals at Pubbelly Sushi and CVI.Che. The rooms are very nice and spacious. Staff are great and seem to stick around, as we have seen consistent faces for several years now. Check in or out can get backed up, so give yourself a little extra time. The facility can seem crowded at times but it has never seemed to be a problem. We love the Turnberry and look forward to our next visit! Read less

The worst service at a hotel I can remeber. Impossible to reach, impossible to reach from the hotel. Calls are bounced into a general number (even from rooms), after 10 minutes of waiting (with blaring adds every minute of wait time) one might finally reach a person who doesn't know the answer and who tranfers you to......the general que again. Wait another 10 minutes and then the next person hangs up. It took 1.5 hours and a manager to get the right answer, which is that a promised service didn't exist. Everything has a hidden cost - there's an (unstated) $68 resort fee, but using the pool is an extra $42 dollars (not even to swim, just to sit by the pool!). That is certainly not stated - $100 to sit by the pool! When asked to come back in half an hour, the cleaning lady came back in......3.5 hours, when I was getting ready for a wedding reception. (The room was never cleaned.) The balcony with a view turned out to be a view of a roof of a warehouse and a parking lot. And then of course the hotel overcharged my card by about $500. Ouch.
