The hotel

Imagine yourself on holiday at Kalinago Beach Resort in Grenada, a perfect blend of relaxation, natural beauty, and Caribbean culture. The resort sits along the secluded Morne Rouge Bay, with its warm, clear waters and golden sand. The beach is perfect for a long swim or just floating peacefully under the sun. Try out the resort’s kayaks, paddling along the shoreline, or maybe borrow some snorkelling gear to explore the underwater world just offshore. Head to the resort’s beachfront restaurant, which serves local dishes inspired by traditional Caribbean flavours, perhaps try fresh-caught fish and at the beach bar sip on a sweet rum punch or fresh coconut water. A haven away from the bustle, you'll notice how quiet and peaceful it is, while the island’s vibrant energy is only a short distance away if you want to explore. A beautiful location on the beach just about perfect for the sunset BUT it is clear that the owners rely on this ..when there is no manager in sight .. reception and bar/restaurant staff are hard working and polite though sometimes as a guest .. I feel I am an inconvenience.. there is no heart to this hotel .. no central social point except possibly the pool bar in daytime . The whole place needs investment .. the rooms are dated which in itself does not bother me but the beautiful ceiling fan does not work and nor do most fans in most rooms I was advised .. much preferable to noisy air con , the toilet water runs after each flushing .. a simple plumbing job .. which I have asked to be corrected several times … wardrobe doors missing or not useable .. various trip hazards around the hotel .. pool lighting broken .. awful beach chairs .. outside shower not working .. non existent Spa .. no activities published .. food and drinks overpriced and average .. so much potential due to location which is why I chose it over a Grand Anse and true Blu where I have stayed before but a kick up the backside is needed .. very unlikely I would choose on a future visit to stay here .. It was my daughters 10th Birthday and I decided to give her a Surprise. Excellent service provided from the Office personnel. Breakfast was freshly made and was indeed DELICIOUS. We had lunch poolside and it was AMAZING....Everything was prepared and delivered steaming hot. See you soon, Kali. We had a BLAST!

The room was nicely decorated and contained the necessary amenities. We bathed in the pool as well as on BBC Beach but the entire breakfast experience at Sur La Mer was quite impressive. We ordered in advance, for 8:00 am since I was going to the office immediately after checkout. Whilst placing the orders, Kathy guided us in terms of portion sizes, food combinations, and the like. When we arrived at the restaurant, the food was ready. Everything was tasty and I took the rest to the office as the portions were generous. Thank you Kathy for adding value to our experience!!! We will certainly be back… Read less

The location of this hotel is perfect. The beach is usually quiet with plenty of space. It’s a little tired in places but offers rustic charm. The staff were all very helpful. The food was of a good standard, particularly the breakfasts and I’d recommend the rum punch special with has a couple of secret ingredients. The pool has a swim up bar.… Read more

The food was of a good standard, particularly the breakfasts and I’d recommend the rum punch special with has a couple of secret ingredients. The pool has a swim up bar. It’s next to La Plywood bar and a 20 min walk from Umbrellas. The driveway is steep but makes a short sharp walk up the hill to blow away the cobwebs before breakfast. Would definitely return.
