My husband and I just returned from a 5 night stay here to enjoy our honeymoon. It was everything that you expect the Maldives to be. Absolutely no filters required . The photos you see, is what you get. We were really lucky to have perfect sunny days everyday . On average 31 degrees but felt like 35 due to the humidity. Arrival - was super easy. Got off the plane, collected our luggage , and as you exit, a staff member is there holding the Ozen sign where they take you to the lounge where you’re given refreshments whilst they check you in . Only waited approximately 10-15 mins before we departed on their comfortable speed boat to Ozen Life which took approximately 45mins. As an fyi , the speed boat has wifi. You’re then warmly greeted by the staff on the island and you meet your butler. We had gentleman named Blue, very helpful. You’re then taken on a quick golf buggy tour of the island and taken to your room. Room- we stayed in the Wind villa with pool . Beautifully presented . Exactly what you see on their website. Regarding outlets, I took the UK adaptor (from Australia so I had a UK-Aus adaptor) , one on one side of the bed , and two in the bathrooms from memory. If you do have a lot of electronics to charge, recommend bringing a power board so you can connect once but able to charge multiples of your devices. This was helpful for me as I had underwater cameras to charge for snorkelling . The bed is extremely comfortable , quite soft but I like this. The pillows are also soft however if you don’t like this, very easy to liaise with your butler to ask for something firmer. You contact your butler via WhatsApp . Wifi was easily accessible across the island . Many ammenities provided in the bathroom including sunscreen and insect repellent . However, coming from Australia, we took a lot of our own sunscreen as you will find you’re lathering on a lot due to the hot sun and reflection off the water. Walking from the villa deck into the ocean is easy, careful as the steps in the water may have algae so slightly slippery. I didn’t have to use reef shoes as mainly sand just underneath . It’s not that deep straight off the deck, about 1.2 metres . The ocean water was lovely 26-28 degrees . We found the pool was used often to cool off with the hot weather . The walk from the water villas to the main jetty is approximately a 10-15 min walk. Be aware in the middle of the day it can get very hot . You can call reception for buggy service and they can take you to where you need to go. Food - the main eating area is The Palms. This is where breakfast , lunch and dinner is served . Overall had a great variety and the food is presented very artistically especially the dessert . We had lunch at M6M (the underwater restaurant) would recommend this time as the sunlight makes it so clear to see the fish and such a variety of fish. You see reef sharks swimming by . We got to have a look at the restaurant at night and you do see the bigger fish but the colour of the reef and coral isn’t as vibrant . Gala dinner - one night all guests are eating on the beach area where there are food stalls of variety of cuisine . Concept was nice . Peking restaurant - delicious and so much flavour. Wish I had more space to eat more . Chinese inspired. Indoceylon- a lot of flavour and spices. Indian inspired . Bit spicy for me but I’m a wimp haha Lonu- Maldivian cuisine had this for lunch. Joie de Vivre - bar/snack area around the main pool . Their pizzas are really good . Menu changes every day. Activities - snorkelling is complimentary at 9am-10am and 3pm-4pm. Liaise with your butler to book you a spot but majority of the time, the morning slot wasn’t that busy so there was once where I went to the dock and waited to see if the boat was full or if anyone didn’t show and they let you on. You have access to life jackets on the boat, and they do provide towels and drinks on the boat (water and soft drink) . You just need to bring your snorkelling gear that you can hire (for free) from the dive shop . Our first snorkelling session we saw turtles and a large reef shark . Apparently it’s quite common to see the sea turtles hanging around on the edges of the reef so that was really nice to see. There are two marine biologists that work for Ozen , Nuria and Erin, and they were full of knowledge and they’re tasked to expand the reef around Ozen and keeping it healthy . We managed to see pods of spinner dolphins quite a few times whether it being going out on the boat to the snorkelling area , or on the sunset cruise which was always a delight . Sunset fishing - I think this is an ok activity as long as people go out not having high expectations to catch anything . You go out with hand reels and drop the line about 20 metres . We didn’t catch anything but it was nice to spend the sunset hour on the water . Gin is In bar - great cocktails here. Also we had a great waiter/bartender who concocted some cocktails based on what we liked . Spa service - part of our honeymoon package we were offered a 60 minute massage. The service was very good and relaxing . Service - we cannot fault the service here. Everyone was very attentive , friendly and helpful. Our housekeeper did an amazing job, twice a day turn down service . And one night also made the bed to have the “happy honeymoon” message which was a lovely surprise. Overall , I would recommend Ozen. I think especially if you’re after a relaxing holiday. Kids are allowed but I honestly didn’t see too many here . We were after a relaxing beach holiday and that’s what we got . If you’re after a place that has a lot of activities to keep you busy, I don’t think this is a place that you’re after . Read less

Fifth time at Ozen Life Maadhoo and it continues to surpass our expectations and another truly unforgettable holiday, with new memories. We were met at the airport by Zameel. He, and all the crew, were so welcoming making the start of our holiday relaxing before we even arrived on the Island. I would also like to give Zameel and Baari a shout out for also looking after us at the airport on our return. We had a long stay at the airport before our flight and they both made it so much easier for us - thank you! The arrival at the Island was, as always, amazing! It was so lovely to see familiar faces and the warmth and attentiveness made us feel right at home. We stayed in an overwater wind villa again and you could not beat the accommodation. Everything was immaculate, there was a room bar that was stocked daily with lovely refreshments and snacks. There was coffee and tea making facilities and, one thing we really appreciated, plenty of fresh sparkling and still water left in your villa for you. All the restaurants were superb, the food and menu options were simply delicious and the chef’s can’t do enough for you. Anil, Sunny, Vishal and all the chef’s were truly accommodating for any dietary requirements or, quite simply, anything we fancied eating, they would make it for you - including delicious pizza!!! For the first time on our visits to Ozen, we did the BBQ on the beach. The setup and service were fantastic and the food was delicious - we would recommend this if you want something romantic and memorable during your stay. Breakfast and lunch in the Palms everyday was lovely. You have a choice of buffet or you can order from the chef, as I have said, they will do anything in their gift for you. Kieran made great efforts to set us up outside every morning for breakfast. Throughout all the restaurants we were attentively looked after by Ali, Dita, Erika, Durga, Ahil, Luham, Munnu, Maria, Shan, Salmaan, Samrat, Maari - they made sure every meal was a delight. I do fear we have missed someone but honestly, all the staff at this resort can’t do enough for you. Ozen has a beautiful pool bar, with an infinity pool. This is a great place to relax/socialise and watch the sun set. The team at the pool bar are also great - Danielle, Appu, Zaain, Hussain were always on hand and made our time around the pool enjoyable. We took the evening meal at the M6M (under water restaurant). As always, the meal was exceptional, with each dish beautifully presented and bursting with flavour. The unique setting, surrounded by vibrant marine life, with Carole, Teresa, Vishal, Shaisha and the team on hand, the experience was made even more magical. The F&B staff are lead by great guys, Shazeen, Hakeem, Sujeet. Their leadership allows the team to provide guests with a relaxed and enjoyable experience, which made our stay even more memorable. There is a small gym at Ozen (overlooking looking the ocean, you couldn’t get a better gym view!), which is perfect and has pretty much all that you need if you decide to keep fit whilst you are away. There is early morning yoga if you like yoga, but we just used the gym. We also want to give a special mention to Furugaan, who cleaned our overwater villa every day. He was simply amazing, always ensuring our villa was spotless and comfortable. His dedication and friendliness added an extra touch of excellence to our stay this time. A final shout out to the guys at the Watersport centre. Over the previous stays, we have grown a real confidence in Amati and his team. We booked a 2hr boat trip to swim with the dolphin and see the turtle. He did not fail us and we had one of the most memorable experiences yet. You should definitely consider a trip like this or snorkelling with the sharks, you won’t regret it. Elizabeth and the management team run a beautiful resort with the most fantastic staff who, without question, make your holiday a memorable experience. We stayed here as part of our honeymoon and had the most wonderful time. From the smooth collection and transfer from Male to the warm welcome upon arrival, everything has been excellent. We have enjoyed the food and drinks everywhere and appreciated the spa treatments and staff frequently checking in on us. It often felt like we were the only ones here which is a testament to how well the island is set out. We were treated to extensive little surprises such as cakes and bed decorations. All of the staff were fantastic - special thanks to our butler Thaabish, chef Sunny, spa manager Sunny, Naushad the housekeeper and Prajwal from the pool bar. If we’re nitpicking, we would say that there could be more bikes to travel across the property as sometimes the buggies can be slow to arrive, and that in slower time, updating the villas to be a little more modern would be good. However, these are minor points that didn’t detract from our stay and we would love to return! Read less
