The first all-inclusive Pullman resort has landed and they have pulled out all the stops to create the ultimate beach holiday in paradise. Located on the picturesque island of Maamutaa and spanning over 19 hectares, Pullman is bursting with activities, excursions, and wellness programmes, meaning you will always have something to do, and seeing as it's all covered in their generous all-inclusive package you have the freedom to indulge without worrying about extra costs. Serving up their take on ‘eatertainment’ you can also enjoy unlimited dining and drinks across its six restaurants and bars, each offering diverse cuisine and gourmet options. Though luxurious and tranquil, Pullman Maldives is also family-friendly, offering a kids' club with supervised activities and a kids pool with waterslides, plus there's Skillz the resorts’ teens only area with snooker and a golf simulator. Where is it

In the southern part of the Maldives, on a private island called Maamutaa. Access is via a 55-minute direct flight (90 minutes indirect) from the capital, Malé, to Kooddoo Airport, followed by a short 15 minute speedboat ride to the resort.

Hotel information

122 villas. All with modern amenities including HD TV, WiFi, tea/coffee-making facilities, safe, mini-bar (replenished daily), indoor and outdoor showers. Beach Villas offer 200 sqm of living space and direct access to the sandy beach via a secluded pathway, indoor-outdoor bath area with two showers and tub. Villas have 1 king-size bed, sleeping maximum 2 adults.

All Inclusive includes: breakfast at Mélange and Sol Rising. Lunch at Mélange and Souk Oven. Dinner at Mélange, Phat Chameleon and Souk Oven. Snacks at The HUB. Complimentary Shisha at Saffron Affair. High Tea and selection of canapés and sweets from Sol Rising. In-villa mini-bar (replenished twice per day, on request, with soft drinks, bottled juice, liquor, beer, wine, chocolate and snacks).

Room upgrades

Spacious and ideal for families, Family Beach Villas are 270sqm and has an outdoor living area and 1 king-size bed plus a separate room with a bunk bed. Family Beach Pool Villas are also available.

Beach Pool Villas are 240 sqm with an outdoor living room, terrace area and private pool. Villas have 1 king-size bed, sleeping maximum 2 adults.

Two-bedroom Beach Pool Villas offer 580 sqm of space, with two bedrooms separated by a living room, each has it’s own bathroom.

Ocean Villas are built over the lagoon with direct access to the water below. These villas are 160sqm and have an open air living space and a netted hammock over the water. Villas have 1 king-size bed, sleeping maximum 2 adults. Ocean Pool Villas are also available.

Sunset Ocean Pool Villas are similar to Ocean Pool Villas but with sunset views.

Ocean Pool Suites offer 185 sqm of space and features an open cabana with loungers, private pool, illuminated glass window in the floor, living room and bedroom with 1 king-size bed, sleeping maximum 2 adults.

For total seclusion the Two-bedroom Ocean Pool Villas offer 440 sqm of space, including two bedrooms separated by a living room. The master bedroom with 1king-size bed, the second bedroom with twin beds, each with separate bathrooms.

The Aqua Villa is a two-level villa with all the amenities of an Ocean Villa plus an exclusive pool facing East (perfect to watch the sunrise), open-air bathroom, a submerged master bedroom plus an overwater bedroom, sleeping maximum 2 adults.

Overall Verdict This resort is a poor choice if you’re planning a trip to the Maldives. If you arrive late through no fault of your own, the hotel will not only fail to assist you in reaching the resort promptly or offer any compensation but will also charge you for delays that are entirely their responsibility. Pros • The island itself is beautiful. We stayed in a two-bedroom overwater villa, which had a picturesque setting. • Food at Melange is excellent. It’s the only restaurant that delivers quality meals on the island. • The hotel staff are friendly and polite, creating a pleasant atmosphere. • The diving courses are a highlight. The instructor was knowledgeable and kind, making the experience enjoyable. Thank you, Mathis. Cons 1. Accommodation: • The furniture is worn, the bathroom equipment is in poor condition, and the poolside sofas are dirty. 2. Dining: • Only Melange offers good food; the other restaurants are subpar. • Limited options for non-alcoholic cocktails. 3. Amenities: • Water activities are overpriced ($205 for just 30 minutes on a jet ski). • The mini-bar’s white chocolate cannot be substituted with milk or dark chocolate. • Bicycles are not free, which is surprising for such a large island. • Buggy service is inconsistent, with waits often exceeding 30 minutes. 4. Management: • We traveled from Kazakhstan with Air Astana, whose flight was delayed by 9 hours. This caused us to miss our domestic flight from Malé. The hotel gave us two options: a 6:45 am or 3:45 pm flight the next day. We chose the morning flight to minimize lost time. However, at 11:30 pm, the hotel called to inform us that we wouldn’t be flying in the morning because they failed to book seats in time. • We lost an additional day of our vacation due to the resort’s disorganization. Upon arrival, we expected some form of compensation for the inconvenience, but the hotel manager, Assaad Moussa, dismissed our concerns entirely, implying it was not of their concern. 5. Checkout Nightmare: • On the last evening, we settled our bill for additional services to avoid delays the next morning. However, at 6:30 am on checkout day, we were presented with an unexpected $232 bill. This was for the cancellation of the first domestic flight, which we missed due to circumstances beyond our control. 6. Overall Atmosphere: • The resort feels nearly deserted. With such poor management and service, I hope this review encourages others to avoid this place. Read less

Remarkably thoughtful and caring personnel. We HIGHLY recommend this resort. As good an experience we have had anywhere. Food was exceptional, the bungalows first rate. We spent forty hours getting here. Worth every minute. Will be recommending this resort to our friends.
