Named after the beloved wife of Hawaii’s last king, Queen Kapiolani is something of a Waikiki landmark, paying homage to Hawaii’s majestic heritage and unique culture with a modern twist. Overlooking the sandiest stretch of Waikiki Beach, guests can enjoy stunning views of Diamond Head from the balconies of their newly renovated rooms, each and every one of them furnished in breezy Island style. As a change from the beach, laze beside the pool instead, dipping in every now and again to cool off. Although there are restaurants all around you, the hotel’s own Kulana is highly recommended, not just for buffet favourites but for its sweeping panoramic views! Pre-dinner, chill awhile at the Deck Pool, sipping on your favourite cocktail – a Mai Tai perhaps?

Good location to beach and zoo. Rooms are older and have an odor. Bathroom needs updating and exhaust vent is needed. Had to request extra towels. Supposed to have coffee/tea set up none were available.
Breakfast is good but dinner options are limited. Waited 20 minutes for cocktails.
Disappointed with Hotel not telling us the pool was closed when we booked it and the construction noise was unbearable

We arrived about 10:00 pm and checked in. After taking my credit card, the clerk gave us a paper saying the pool was closed because of an emergency. We were disappointed but were so tired we went to our room. We had booked a room with an ocean view and Diamond Head. The next morning at 8:00 am, we heard loud grinding and pounding noises. We looked down to the pool below our Lanai. The pool had been completed excavated and was being rebuilt. This was not an emergency. The noise was so loud and severe we moved later that afternoon to the city side of the hotel. Less construction noise but lots of city noise. They gave us a credit for one night but did not discount our non-view room for the rest of the week we stayed. We were sorely disappointed in the room and no pool. The Hyatt pool down the road was an option they gave us but it was old, and in the shade with no amenities. I was told that they were going to get their pool renovated after the Queen's renovation and their customers were going to use the Queen's pool. Clearly the pool renovation was planned. We should have been told it was closed when I booked it. Very disappointing!!!
