The hotel

Oozing island charm, this bijou beauty has just 79 rooms but packs in plenty of reasons as to why it deserves a visit. Inspired by its stunning waterfront location, just a stroll from the heart of St Lawrence Gap with its great bars, restaurants and nightlife, Rostrevor Apartment Hotel features just enough turquoise touches to remind you the ocean’s right outside — in fact, every guest room looks out over it. If you want to get even closer, the swimming pool sits a few mere metres from the ocean, on a bluff-like perch that creates absorbing views as you swim and sunbathe. An equally alluring sunbathing spot, the secluded sands of Rostrevor Beach fringe the hotel. The pool’s paired with one of the hotel’s two eateries, the Almond Tree Pool Bar, so you can dine in casual comfort during the day, before heading to the other restaurant, The Harlequin, for International food with Caribbean flair for a delicious evening meal.

Staued in a delusion ocean front sudio with my mum - the apartment was large and bright, useful kitchenette area and large bathroom. The patio doors opened on to its own terrace area with further grass frontage. We had approx 12 steps down to the pool and the in house cafe which served great food Nothing to complain about - loved it

Having previously stayed at the Butterfly Beach hotel and spending a lot of time in ZR buses travelling to the Gap for evening meals, we decided to try the Rostrevor and we are very pleased we did! The location is great, rooms exceptionally clean and the views were lovely from our superior oceanfront room, maybe less so from the pool studio rooms. Our room was large, had a kitchen area and a great shower. Yes, it was dated, but this is a 3 star hotel after all. The only real complaint was that the pillows are probably the most uncomfortable we’ve ever had. The outdoor spaces do leave a little to be desired. The pool is small and was often very full and despite there being a small beach, the waves came right up to the rocks so only a reasonably competent swimmer could use it, although the sea was exceptionally rough when we visited with big powerful waves. Sunday nights there is karaoke on in a bar across the street and for some reason it’s at full volume and goes on until around 2am so if you’re a light sleeper beware. We’d have no hesitation in returning to this hotel next time we visit Read less

We booked this hotel mainly for its excellent position in St Lawrence gap, but also because the rooms come with a kitchenette as well as being one of the cheapest hotels on the gap. We found the hotel to be very clean with our maid being very good & the staff being polite & helpful. If you are looking for value for money in an ideal location look no further, yes some of the hotel looks dated, the shower & kitchenette’s do need upgrading (I’ve included photos), but for the price it’s difficult to complain about this issue, all the rooms have a sea view, we had a mid range double superior room on which we were more than happy with. There is a very small beach area but it’s no more than a 5 minute walk to the lovely Dover beach. The pool area is clean with plenty of beds, but not a lot of parasols, the pool is adequate but not big. There’s a convenience store about 50 yds from the hotel which sells most things needed for your holiday & appear to be at Barbados supermarket prices, The much bigger Dover market shop is about a 10 minute walk, also an ATM Read less
