This is the best all-inclusive hotel we have ever been to and the beach is beautiful! There were a couple of things that needed improving. Good: Cleanliness All staff Evening entertainment very good - the Mexican Evening, Element show, Hearts singing show and fire entertainers were all amazing. Restaurants, especially the French and Italian. The breakfast is to die for. The eggs and pancakes section are amazing. The lunch for burgers is fabulous. Not so good: Concierge. We requested and couldn't get a kettle for our room. What we read about concierge staff going out of their way, ours in our block didn't seem to make an effort. Broken sunbeds on the beach Not enough sunbeds around pool - hard to find any available Read less

This is our 6th time staying at a Secrets and to us, this resort was the same caliber as Secrets Akumal. We did upgrade to preferred, and loved the amenities and room location. We only spent one afternoon on the preferred beach area, as it was extremely windy. We enjoyed having a few breakfasts and lunches at the restaurant, but truly after also eating at the buffet we found the service to be excellent at both. As well the buffet had a great selection. The "sitting" food could be served hotter at the stations would be the only complaint. The housekeeping and bar restocking staff did a great job, and were always so pleasant to chat with in the morning. Job well done to Anselmo and Abel! Our concierge Roger, was great and was always there to help if needed. We had a mishap at the Mexican restaurant and he , along with the management, did so much to make it up to us. It was all very appreciated. The food was good, no meals really stood out, but we did love the Japanese. We only had the free mini massages at the pool, and Sergio was fantastic and was able to help me so much with a back injury!! The shows were ok. The Rock Show was our least favourite, but all in all not bad. The entertainment was so much better at Secrets Akumal (at the time). Shout out to David with the entertainment team. Super nice young man learning the ropes and he went all out. We would definitely recommend the resort. Read less

This was our second trip to Maroma Beach as we went the same time last year. This time we returned with three additional couples. We have all traveled to various sandals resorts, and Would all agree that secrets - with this facility specifically, staff, food and entertainment is better than sandals. If you know, sandals, there’s no comparison with the cost. As some resorts say “welcome home” this definitely felt like that when we returned this year with our friends. Within a day, most of the entertainment staff recognized us, big smiles, and tons of fun, not only at the pool daily, but around the entire resort with activities and the nightly entertainment. The variety of evening shows is a huge plus where you see many different performances and a different variety of dancers and singers! Between the eight of us, everyone experienced all the restaurants, the buffet, as well as specialty dinner, events that are held outside, along with additional entertainment, and all agree. The food was amazing! The band is amazing and intriguing to watch how they all mesh together The resort is big enough to experience everything but small enough to feel comfortable and as said before running into all the staff members that are more than willing to offer any assistance or help that you need. Big shout out to Hector and Sebastian and their entertainment team, to mention our great friends daily at the pool with tons of laughs and fun, Javier, Brandom, Leo, Natalie, Benny, our favorite bartender at the pool, and many others, unfortunately that I cannot individually name. I mentioned to some of the staff that something seems different this year, in the positive way, as said before we were thoroughly pleased last year, but there was a noted difference this year with everything being a step above. This included a slight difference in entertainment being held in different locations at the resort and ALL of the food was amazing as well as the drinks Every single employee that works on that facility no matter what their task or responsibilities are always greet you! Hands-down, one of the best resorts that we have been to with not one area needing improvement ! Read less
Image of the Tripadvisor rating Great Resort... but overpriced

Dec 16, 2024 B7653VYandrewd

Compared to other resorts in the area, while quality was high, this resort was overpriced. The quality of the amenities, pool, food, spa, etc were all very comparable to other higher-end resorts in the area but came with a price tag almost double. While I would recommend this resort, just know that the price is high, relatively speaking.
