Not 5 star resort, some 5 star features in the setting and surroundings. I booked this holiday in January as a reward for myself and my other half to focus on the end of year and working so hard, which is why it’s such a disappointment to be feeling the way we do, we have been here a week so far, we had two days before being struck down with flu which has made the last 5 days a struggle, room service is slow and around by the pool the times we have managed to get out is also slow. If you want anything you would be better getting to the bar yourself. That said staff are lovely just not enough of them. We have constantly had to call to ask for a re stock on the mini bar, to date this has only been topped up once, again we have had to walk to the ice barrals around and get our own. Towels are taken as stated from the floor when you need replacements but never given until you call and chase so often left without towels, we’ve tried to limit the times they have come in as we’ve had days where we couldn’t move from bed being so poorly.
Food wise, we have managed the lunch buffet twice in a week, breakfast 4 times and the a la cartes 4 times but haven’t ever been able to stay as we’ve been so weak so not had a three course yet, but from what we have had it’s definately not up to 5 star standard, we would have got bored very quickly of the same had we had to have this over the 11 night stay, it’s a shame you only have a la carte of an evening for those who may just want a buffet? Nothing like other AI resorts food wise that I have visited who class themselves as a 5 star. Guests from chatting have said the same and a few have said it’s not the resort it used to be. Apparently the tui rep has had a lot of this feedback already which I plan to give. Cabanas are mainly empty because of the huge charge extra meaning beds around the pool are limited. Shame when you pay so much this isn’t included. We’ve spent so much of our hard earned money this year to come to paradise and the natural surroundings are just beautiful but sorry Hyatt the hotel doesn’t live up to it. I only wish I’d gone with my gut and changed hotels, even after checking with my travel provider about my concerns before coming. Again to stress the staff in the main have been nothing but lovely. However the lady in the local shop ( we’ve spent a small fortune in there on pain relief) is very rude no customer service skills at all!
