    Relaxed and informal, South Gap is a cosy hotel with a friendly atmosphere. The hotel enjoys an enviable position right on the water's edge with the sea lapping up to the side of the ocean-facing pool deck and just a 5-minute walk from the fabulous Dover Beach. Each room boasts a spacious balcony or terrace with breathtaking ocean views. All rooms have received a complete recent makeover including new furnishings, bathrooms and kitchenettes.

    Centrally located in the St Lawrence Gap, the heart of the best entertainment area on the South coast, 'The Gap' offers an incomparable choice of experiences. You can dine in any one of an exciting array of restaurants and the dynamic nightclub atmosphere cannot be surpassed. Transfer time from airport: 20 minutes.

    34 rooms and 23 studios and 11 suites on 4 floors. All with split-system air-conditioning, ceiling fan, cable TV, telephone, complimentary WiFi, USB charging ports, safe, iron and board, daily maid service, kitchenette with fridge, microwave, coffee maker and toaster. Superior Studio Saver with Ocean View with 1 large double bed or 2 twin beds, sleeping maximum 2 adults.

    Breakfast option: available at a supplement.

    Junior Suites with Ocean View, are located on the ground floor, and are perfect for couples and families with small children. Suites offer a separate living area with a double sofa bed, a kitchenette and a private bathroom (accessible through the bedroom). Suites can sleep maximum 3 adults or 2 adults and 1 child.

    One Bedroom Suites with Ocean View offer a separate living room and oceanfront balcony, kitchen area and private bathroom (accessible through the bedroom). With 2 twin beds or 1 double bed in the bedroom and a queen sofa bed in the living room there is enough space for maximum 3 adults or 2 adults and 2 children.

    Tropical Mist Bar and Restaurant (open for breakfast, lunch and dinner) is located on the pool deck overlooking the ocean. The bar has two daily happy hours. Breakfast* is available at a supplement.

    The hotel offers a freshwater swimming pool and sun terrace which overlooks the clear blue Caribbean sea. Lounge by the pool and enjoy the cool tropical breeze while soaking up the glorious sunshine and sipping on a refreshing fruity cocktail.

    A Tourism Fee will be charged per bedroom, per night and will be collected at check out. The rate is subject to change by the Government, and varies by hotel room. Fees currently range from 8.75 Barbadian dollar (approximately £3.90) to 35 Barbadian dollar​ (approximately £16.00) per bedroom, per night. 

    This hotel has no lifts, and steps are required on all floors. This hotel is not suited to guests with mobility issues.

    I feel a little guilty leaving this review. But I can’t give this hotel the review it deserves without being straight about the area too. This hotel is a gem. Comfortable, cozy, spotless rooms, all with stunning sea views which you will go a long way to beat. Beautiful views again from the small but immaculate pool deck. Staff are all lovely and the reception and maid staff are great with nothing too much trouble. Small bar and restaurant with good drinks and good food. We had breakfasts and lunches here and they were all really good. We didn’t eat our evening meals here out of, initially, habit, we go out to eat. And that was the problem. The “Gap”, is not for me. 10 or 12 bar restaurants in the immediate area, all with the seemingly same limited menu, and poorly made drinks. A couple of them cheaper than most but all roughly the same quality, same price, and much more expensive than we imagined. An honourable mention goes to CK kitchen on the corner which was the best of what we found was not a great selection. We tried on the last night to use the hotels restaurant but were late getting down and it was closing. If we had caught it we would have had our best evening meals there too I would guess. If you are the type of person who loves a really cute, friendly hotel with good food ver well priced, then trust me, this place will not let you down. However, you’ll be stuck for other options locally, and that lets this place down a bit for me. Read less

Whether you’re enjoying a morning coffee or winding down after a day of exploring, the scenery alone makes it worth the visit. The location is unbeatable. It’s situated in a vibrant area with plenty of bars and restaurants within walking distance, which made evening outings super convenient. Plus, taxis and buses are easily accessible, so getting around the city was a breeze. The hotel itself has a warm, inviting atmosphere, and the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. My room was spacious, clean, and tastefully decorated—everything you need for a comfortable stay. The views from my window were simply stunning, offering a peaceful escape amidst the city's energy. If you're looking for a combination of comfort, convenience, and incredible views, this hotel is an excellent choice. It might not have the flashy reputation of bigger hotels, but it's a gem worth discovering. Read less

    We’ve just enjoyed Christmas and New Year at this fabulous hotel which was our second stay in the last year. The location on St Lawrence Gap is great with lots of restaurants and bars to choose from and close to some lovely beaches. The hotel food is excellent and very good quality, as are the drinks. What makes this place so special is the people who work here. Everybody works incredibly hard to make sure that we all have the perfect stay. Nothing is too much trouble and everyone is so warm and welcoming with beautiful smiles. It’s a real joy to spend time here. It’s really hard to say goodbye but thankfully we’ve booked another stay to look forward to. Thank you to everyone at South Gap hotel for another perfect holiday. Read less

    The hotel is in a great location in St Lawrence Gap. We paid for a sea front room and we had a lovely view. The pool area was lovely but not very big and lacked sunloungers. We visited in December and there wasn't much atmosphere in the hotel bar. The only negative for us was a karaoke bar across the road which was very loud and went on until 3am.… Read more

Also be aware that there is a repetitive noise outside when it gets dark which it turns out is tree frogs. Read less
