Beautiful resort. A little too big for us. You make many kilometers by bus to move around. Usual problems at the pools with people occupying the deck chairs the whole day with the towels. Beautiful resort. A little too big for us. You make many kilometers by bus to move around. Usual problems at the pools with people occupying the deck chairs the whole day with the towels. Not enough deck chairs at the family accessible pools. Also negative is the booking of the restaurants that are fully booked many days in advance. No chance if you visit the resort for a few days or if you are spontaneous. Very positive was the cleaning, Bashir was always very kind and eager to make the best service! A big thanks to him. We visited Sun Siyam Ohluveli in March as returning guests. It was as amazing as ever! The initial greeting as returning guests was incredible. We were made to feel so special by Ippu (our island host) Check in was seamless and we were taken straight to our beach pavilion. These have just been renovated and are amazing with everything you could want. Ohluveli is special. 3 islands in one which are all beautiful. From the accommodation, the beaches , the restaurants, the sea life and most especially the people who provide the most amazing service you will ever receive. Ippu, our island host, who was wonderful and arranged everything for us and nothing was too much trouble. Ibrahim at the Maghrib Grill restaurant who went above and beyond to make our anniversary meal extra special. Rohit at the Olive Bar who just made our days on the beach on dream island so enjoyable keeping us well hydrated. All the other staff at all restaurants/bars who just provide exceptional service everyday! We will be back soon!! Read less

Firstly I want to say my thank you’s. I would like to mention every single member of staff on this island….they all deserve a mention for excellence, however that’s not at all possible. From the kitchen staff, maintenance, admin and gardeners…..everyone that works behind the scene… thank you so much for all your hard work, it’s so appreciated. You tirelessly work to make the holiday the best it could possibly be. Thank you Gokul (🙏🙏🙏), Mohamed, Chippe, Cinta (sunset restaurant), Moho (host), Lucky (Dhoni bar), Noor (beverages….huge thanks for your help) Imthi (room 306), Sunny, Azar (pizza island), Mutia (Namaste), Rohitha (sunrise bar) Abrahim (Maghrib Grill) It’s fabulous to see spectacular new additions to this years visit. The two new pools of 210m and 131m are outstanding with beach pavilion villas sitting just behind these pools and both the pools have an abundance of sun loungers available. The landscaping and design is truly beautiful, well thought out and the pools were created in what was unused land, so the Maldivian beauty still remains. With a two up, two down design and interconnecting doors on ground floor, these are going to be ideal for families with older children. We have stayed in a water villa this year, which brings the joy of watching an ‘aquarium’ from the accommodation. Sharks, rays, puffer-fish and even a water snake have been spotted. Countless excursions are offered to expand your island experience. The choices endless. There are new restaurants for 2025 and there are no shortage of options. Whatever your mood and tastes….you will be looked after and catered for. We had a beautiful family dinner at Maghrib Grill under the stars. A special night that we will always remember. New beverages have also been introduced, creating an ever expanding drinks menu with fresh juices available at the breakfast buffet. The dive centre is at the centre of the main island. This has a natural reef right off the end of it, where you can view all the marine life the Maldives has to offer. Giant mantra’s are a regular occurrence at the end of this jetty after dusk and this morning I got to snorkel with TWO turtles. It was such a magical experience. Sun Siyam Olhuveli take their reputation very seriously. They strive for nothing but the best and all the staff here go out of their way to make your holiday a relaxing and memorable experience. THANK YOU OLHUVELI….we will be back again to enjoy a little piece of paradise this time next year! Read less

Well appointed and spotlessly clean hotel with loads of swim and other activities for couples or families

Spotlessly clean, friendly staff and beautiful location. We stayed AI in a Grand Water Villa on Dream Island. Food in the buffet is fine and a good range but if there over a week it gets quite repetitive and you. definitely need to book some of the dine around options. Spotlessly clean, friendly staff and beautiful location. We stayed AI in a Grand Water Villa on Dream Island. Food in the buffet is fine and a good range but if there over a week it gets quite repetitive and you. definitely need to book some of the dine around options. Definitely download the app so you can see what is on and book restaurants and trips. We did the day Whale Shark and Manta excursion - very expensive but I guess not something you can do every day and the guides knew what they were doing. The only thing I would say about this is it can be quite manic when they find the whale sharks - you have to jump in over 3ft from the boat edge and the seas are quite challenging without a life vest. I also got motion sickness with the first two dives because it was so choppy. Snorkelling around the hotel is great and we saw loads of sealife but again take care and use life vests provided. The housekeeper Bikash was absolutely fantastic! Super efficient and villa was always super clean with plenty of clean towels etc. The staff in the buffet at Malaafay were also brilliant. Amir especially was fantastic, friendly and efficient. Rohit in Olive Bar was also amazing. A special shout out to our favourite bus driver Al Amin - always with a smile on his face and a pleasure to get in the bus with! Obviously it is very hot and humid - you need to be ok with this as unlike many other destinations there is only AC in the main part of the bedrooms - not even in the bathroom in the Grand Villa or the buffet / restaurants as they are all open air or sides. I’d recommend as a well appointed and well located destination (45 min speedboat from airport) given you can also get water Villa here. Read less
