40th Birthday in Paradise! Exceptional Service and Unforgettable Memories at Sun Siyam Vilu Reef Our recent stay in April 2025 at Sun Siyam Vilu Reef was nothing short of an extraordinary, one in a life time experience thanks to the whole wonderful team who made every moment feel so special!!!! THANK YOU ALL FOR THAT! We were incredibly lucky to have Simaal as our island host. His dedication, kindness, and ability to anticipate our every need turned our holiday into a seamless, carefree escape we will never forget. Whether it was organizing my very special 40th birthday, finding my lost designer sunglasses in the water airplane, organizing a planting of a coconut tree as a memory for our stay or simply checking in to make sure everything was perfect, Simal was outstanding in every way!!! He was our genie in a bottle,who made our dreams come true. Thank you, dearest Simaal! Our villa was beautifully cared twice a day!!!! for by Sahib, whose extraordinary creativity and attention to detail amazed us every single day. We loved coming back to find charming towel creations- Honeymoon, Dolphins, Turtles,Mantas etc. that added such a personal, joyful touch. Sahib spoiled us with romantic hot bath tube, very beautifully decorated. He organized every day extremely delicious sweets, which we enjoyed with our coffee at the beach enjoying the stunning view. Sahib was always so friendly and caring. We would like to THANK YOU, dearest Sahib from the bottom of our hearts for the lovely care! We can‘t wait to see you very soon again! Sakhawat also contributed to making our stay unforgettable and comfortable with his friendly service and dedication. He took care of our villa 160 for two days before we changed to villa 156, where Sahib took care of us. Sahhawat prepared a wonderful Honeymoon decoration upon arrival and surprised ne with a stunning Happy Birthday decoration for my special 40th birthday. Thank you so very much for that! It was amazing. Shaku, a king,friendly and very helpful room boy was also actively helping with the villa care and made our stay wonderful. Dining at the resort was another highlight that should be highlighted!!! We were so impressed by Chef Chaminda from Aqua Restaurant, whose healthy, extraordinary delicious and beautifully plated creations were a delight at every meal!!!! He even prepared several times special dishes for dinner just for us, always keeping our preferences in mind. Chaminda came every single morning at breakfast and every evening at dinner time to our table to check how we feel and if we might need a special meal. He spoils us with the tastiest exotic fruits and the most delicious dishes. He was always so kind, friendly and trully caring. And what is even more important- he prepared his dishes with so much love. This is a true Michelin Star Chef with a big heart and a beautiful soul. Dear Chami, dearest friend, you will stay in our hearts forever! THANK YOU! Chef Kushal from The Spice Restaurant also deserves a mention for his tasty Indian cuisine — every dish was bursting with authentic flavors. He kindly came at breakfast to talk to us in the morning and to say hello and just check how we are doing. Thank you for that. We were also fortunate to have been looked after by Preveen (Well done Restourand and in villa dining) and Shakhil (Aqua restaurant) during our meals. Their extraordinary attentive, warm service made every dining experience even more enjoyable and relaxing. Thank you for being super professional, really caring and friendly. A big thank you goes to the master of passion fruit sorbet and coconut sorbet Mozammel. Thank you for these tasty sweet indulgents. You sweetened up our taste. Beyond these wonderful individuals, the entire staff at Vilu Reef deserves praise. Every encounter, from the two ladies at the spa Dwi and Kadek, which made our heavenly experience at the spa to the staff at the dive center, was filled with genuine smiles and a sincere commitment to making our stay unforgettable. When we arrived at the island we were greeted by our island host, Sham. From the start,Sham was so welcoming, lovely, full of information and happy to help with anything. As it was our honeymoon, she organised us to have breakfast in our villa one morning and also very kindly gifted us with a complimentary candlelit dinner on the beach. She helped us organise everything through WhatsApp, which was such an easy way of getting in touch with her (even though she was always smiling and walking around the island all day anyway!! ☺️) amazing host, so kind, friendly, attentive, welcoming and there’s so much more!! Thank you for making our stay amazing!! Alongside Sham, the rest of the staff around the island were lovely too. Each staff member you walked by said hello, good morning, good afternoon, good evening - every time! From gardeners, to housekeepers, to front of house staff, they all made sure they acknowledged you. A special mention to a couple of staff though that made our stay extra memorable are to: Ranjith - thanks for your lovely and kind aura on an evening and keeping our sun daiquiri’s, beers and Malibu diet cokes topped up!! 🍻 Chris - thank you for your excellent service at Well Done restaurant. Your people skills are fab, your attentiveness and kindness shone through! 😀 Nisha - thank you for keeping us hydrated at the pool, and for our little dance at the end of the Maldivian night! You’re amazing 🤩 Reddy - the Spice guy, thanks again for excellent service. We loved to have our lunch and dinner here as the food and staff like yourself are just great! From the moment we arrived at Sun Siyam Vilu Reef, we felt like we had stepped into paradise — and thanks to the incredible team, our stay was truly unforgettable. From organizing special events to ensuring all details of our stay were perfect, Simal went above and beyond with genuine warmth and professionalism. Every moment felt tailored just for us thanks to his incredible care and attention. We also want to express our heartfelt gratitude to Sahib, our room boy, whose positive attitude and friendly smile brightened our days. Every time we returned to our villa, we were greeted by beautifully arranged towel art — from matas to totoises— adding such a personal and heartwarming touch to our experience. His dedication and creativity truly amazed us. A huge thank you as well to Chaminda, the talented chef who made our culinary journey exceptional. Knowing we were looking for healthy options, he prepared several special dishes just for us — each one more delicious than the last. His passion for cooking and his thoughtful, personalized approach made every meal a highlight of our stay. And last but certainly not least, a big thank you to the entire staff at Vilu Reef (oncluding also Shakhil and Preveen). We spent 13 wonderful days in the paradise called Sun Siyam Vilu Reef. After landing in Male we felt that we had arrived. We could already enjoy Sun Siyam lodge during waiting the seaplane. After arriving in the island we had a warm welcome with drum, conch horn, coconut drink... Niyaaf was our extremely devoted host, whatever we asked for immediately, he took care of it without delay, we really appreciate his effort. Our boys love to play soccer, so they quickly got to know the resort futsal team, whom we managed to support with all our hearts in the inter-island championship 2 times and help them win. Many thanks to Adam and Nimal and the team for giving us this experience. We were very lucky with the weather, so we were able to enjoy every minute of the Maldives and the resort. We were able to snorkel a lot, where we also made many friends, who kept us safe throughout. Akko, Migey, thank you very much for the many experiences and care! It was an experience to swim with the biggest fish (Whale shark) in the world! The Vilu Reef house coral reef is amazing, thanks to the location of the island (entrance to the Atoll). You really don't want to go somewere else for snorkling, you just float on the water and you are greeted by rays, sharks, turtles and millions of fish with millions of species. It would be difficult to list the wonders we saw here. We also tried water sports, so we were able to participate in the Jet-ski, banana and snorkeling safari tours, we really enjoyed them. The spa part of the resort is also outstanding. Both in terms of staff and infrastructure. We most enjoyed the amazing Aqua restaurant, where we spent our 3 meals. Nittin's team took care of us with love and friendship. Jazlan, Sagar, Dilshan, Bhawdeep, Mozammel, Ashmita, Juri… and all those who work in the restaurant, we will never forget you! Big thanks to Matiur, who was taking care of our villa, cleaned up twice a day and making suprises for the kids with palm leaves decorations on the bed. We say goodbye to paradise with tears in our eyes and hope that one day we can come back and experience the wonder again. Read less
