We had an unfortunate experience after going to the Ritz’s bell hop service to call for a taxi. My friend entered the car first and was quoted a $10 flat fare total for a 1/2 mile ride down the road. When we arrived at the destination, the driver started arguing that it was her first day and she called her boss and he told her it was $15 per person, which would have been $45! I know when someone is trying to screw me over, and I told her that she quoted $10 flat and that’s what we’d pay. My friends were reluctant, so then I said to her that I had only a $20 and she could take that and accept the 100% tip on the $10 fare that she quoted and I said asked out of the car. I headed to the security gate and expected my friends to be behind me, but they stayed in the car and actually ended up up paying her $50! The one friend said that she started to drive the car as he was trying to open the door. I said that should have been more of a reason to stop engaging with her and stop the conversation. I’m disappointed that the Ritz allows drivers like this to work at their hotel. I expect the hotel to protect tourists as this experience leaves a bad taste. This occurred on 12/16/24 at 2:30 PM. I know that high level of service should be expected at a Ritz Carlton property, but we have never experienced such empowered staff who go out of their way to be friendly and meet your every need with a smile and positive interaction. At check in, we mentioned we were celebrating my brother's 75th birthday on this trip. Later that evening, there was a knock on the door. In popped Janikia from reception and her co-worker with Happy Birthday balloons, a rum cake and bottle of Prosecco singing Happy Birthday. Simply amazing. Everyone on the staff from Elton the host at Carillas on the Beach restaurant, servers LaToya, Michaelina and Theresa at the breakfast buffet, restaurant supervisor Ibrahim, JP the server on the beach, James the pool/beach supervisor, Mark the bellman, Euwan at reception were super engaging, sharing their life stories and making sure our every need was being met. Thursday afternoon the hotel sponsors a complimentary cocktail hour on the terrace with hors d'oeuvres, beer and wine. The entire management team including General Manager Wilbert Mason is in attendance to solicit feedback from guests and work on any areas of needed improvement. I have never experienced such attention to detail at any hotel property. Beyond the staff, the property is the star. It is the only high rise (10 stories) on Grace Bay. The beach is consistently rated as one of the world's best. No complaints here. Lounge chairs on the beach and at the pool are plentiful. Rooms are spacious and modern with spectacular views of the turquoise water from the wide balcony. The bathroom is equiped with all the expected comforts (two raised sinks, a freestanding bathtub and rain shower). Property is immaculate (only 3 years old). Housekeeping service was prompt and top notch. Breakfast buffet is spectacular. We had lunch one afternoon at Carillas on the beach--also very good. I don't often write reviews, but I was compelled to share with readers the fantastic experience we had staying at the Ritz Carlton Turks and Caicos. Will certainly return. Read less

We had an amazing experience at the Ritz. It’s a beautiful property, gorgeous rooms/views, delicious food, and wonderful service! We were especially impressed by Johnson who brought us to our room & gave us a quick tour of the property. We can’t wait to stay again during our future visits to Turks & Caicos!

We thought about going back to Aruba but we preferred a shorter flight and wanted to see what the island had to offer. We were celebrating our 30 year anniversary and wanted a warm destination, and the hotel is located on a beautiful stretch of beach on Grace Bay. There are shops and many restaurants with in walking distance, and taxis are plentiful. Rose upgraded us to a beautiful oceanfront corner room and the entire staff could not have been nicer. The wait staff at the beach and pool were very attentive and the room was always refreshed. There are options on property to eat, 2 pools and water sports available as well. The local area was very safe and we felt comfortable walking around outside the hotel. I would definitely return and recommend both the Ritz Carlton and the island to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway. Read less

We just returned from a week at the Ritz Carlton Turks & Caicos, and were extremely disappointed overall. We travel to luxury hotels and resorts extensively, and therefore had some basic expectations as to the level of quality and service of this brand. Sadly, this resort lacks hospitality in general, and definitely does not live up to the Ritz Carlton standards. Turks & Caicos is a very expensive island, so it was not surprising that everything from room rates to cocktails were met with hefty price tags... we were happy to spend the money to stay at a luxury resort, but this resort did not deliver on the basic levels of service that the Ritz Carlton brand is known for. General consistency was lacking from housekeeping to the front desk, but were particularly disappointed by the beach and pool staff who seemed annoyed when we ordered food or drinks. One server, Emmanuel was particularly irritated when we tried to get another round of $25 cocktails when he just wanted us to close out the bill so he could go home. He was more interested in riding around on his hoverboard while talking to his friends on speaker from the cellphone which lay flat on his tray so his supervisor wouldn't notice. The resort is beautiful with a prime location on Grace Bay beach, but even though there was plenty of staff, they were unfriendly and lacked the basic service that the Ritz Carlton brand is known for. There was no "island hospitality" here... Turks & Caicos is an expensive but beautiful island -- next time, for a better overall experience, will stay at Grace Bay Club or Seven Stars. Read less
